Coalition MPs warn One Nation is ‘drinking our milkshake’ amid immigration policy void

Coalition MPs warn One Nation is ‘drinking our milkshake’ amid immigration policy void. By Lachlan Leeming in The Australian.

As the one-year anniversary of the party’s catastrophic 2025 election loss nears, multiple MPs told The Australian they feared the ongoing lack of policy in an area viewed as a critical battleground would result in the Coalition bleeding voters to parties like One Nation running on a hard-line anti-migration platform.

“One Nation is drinking our milkshake while we are still bickering over whether or not we can say the words ‘mass migration’,” Mr Hamilton told The Australian.

Exposing the rifts that still exist within the party following Andrew Hastie’s resignation from his immigration portfolio in October, Mr Hamilton said “clearly we had a chance to lead the debate on immigration when Andrew Hastie was still on the front bench, but we threw it away”.

Don’t be silly. After Albo’s hate speech legislation comes into effect, anti-migration platforms will be illegal. The coalition are so behind the times — by the time they finally agree on an immigration policy, it will be banned as hate speech.
