Cute girls defecting to the far right

Cute girls defecting to the far right. By Leaf Arbuthnot at The Telegraph.

Not so long ago, the stock image of someone from the far-Right was easily summoned: they’d be male, obviously, and very probably bald, with steel-toe boots and questionable tattoos.

Times, however, have moved on: this week, it was reported that the [UK] Government had banned seven “far-Right agitators” from entering the country to attend a Tommy Robinson rally on Saturday. Three are strikingly telegenic young women.

The interesting explanation, by John Carter:

The right basically has a monopoly on young men, making it very lonely on the left for young women.

Well what do you expect when the left discriminates so hard against white men and everything we built and stand for?

Contrary to popular belief, young men can go monk mode for much longer than women can. Men aren’t the ones whose literature consists more or less exclusively of romances, they don’t play house when they’re kids, they don’t daydream about the wedding day.

Eventually the cuter girls started to realize that the predominately male political environments of the far right are a target rich environment full of very friendly young men who are quite happy to see them.

So they defect.

Cute girls defecting is a precursor to the preference cascade.

There’s also the push factor, of the soy boys and the trans people:

Lefty activists still wearing masks!

Lefty activists still wearing masks!

Take a look at the crowd at yesterday’s Democratic Socialists of America [DSA] event. (The DSA is very influential within the Democrat Party now.) It’s 2026 and many are still wearing masks! Understanding reality isn’t their strong point.

Masks — useless against viruses, but great at signalling you’re far, far left in 2026

Clay Travis:

I’m stunned by the number of people still wearing masks in airports and on planes when I travel to the east or west coast. It’s a far left wing status symbol now.

Robby Starbuck:

People can laugh but don’t underestimate these people. In only a few years, these weirdos seized control of the city where this photo was taken (Denver). They mostly don’t have kids. Socialism and communism are their child and they’ll die for it like we’d die for our actual kids.

If you want to beat them long-term, the silent majority must see them as threats to our kids lives, because they are. …

To beat communists, you must overrun them, you must be louder, you must be stronger, you must be more vicious like a lion protecting their young and you must be just as willing to sacrifice.

Our Africans can beat your Africans

Our Africans can beat your Africans. By Paul Serran at Gateway Pundit.

What’s really the point of national teams?

There’s no denying that first- or second-generation migrant players have become the absolute norm in football (soccer) national teams.

This became painfully clear during the US World Cup … We had no less than 6 black players in Scandinavian Sweden – and even the Japanese goalkeeper Suzuki was black. …

The French team:

Former Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has said that France’s team, while a strong contender for the World Cup title, plays ‘without Frenchmen’.

Rajoy’s comment references the undeniable fact that France fields only people with immigrant backgrounds or who hail from former colonies.

Origins

Needless to say, Rajoy’s comments sparked widespread condemnation [in the globalist media]. …

What Rajoy said, while highly controversial, is the plain truth.

His critics say that, of the 26 players called up by France for the tournament, only three were born outside the country. But it’s also the case that they are all first or second-generation citizens from the colonies.

The left refuse to even countenance the notion that different races have different statistical distributions of abilities, such as IQ or sprinting speed or basketball skills. So much of the world must seem to mysterious to them, so they invent voodoo such as the woke idiocies to explain it to themselves.

Btw, has anybody noticed that the Argentinian team is all white? Like its population?

My Long Journey Home From the Left

My Long Journey Home From the Left. By Elizabeth Nickson at Absurdistan.

The withdrawal and its consequences:

Decanted from the cultural left, I had to re-educate myself. It meant ten years, longer, of reading and thinking to the point where I despaired of ever making a living again.

Many of us have experienced that time now — when you have lost all your friends, all your income sources, and half if not more of your family treats you as if you are covered in ants. I had a mate, I had some equity, I had a supportive mother, but that basically was it. Any therapist disliked you on principle, so that door was closed. I remember going to one and at one juncture she said Trump was a psychopath, and that was that. Being a writer and reader I was habituated to solitude, I had terriers, we spent a lot of time climbing mountains and swimming in cold cold water.

Her lefty past:

I was never in left-wing politics, but I was more than a foot-soldier in the cultural left. Every newspaper, film, play, book, piece of art or music and all legacy journalism draws solely from the ideas of the left. We swim in it. It forms our reality and it is entirely false, fictitious, barely glances at reality. It is the second of two reasons, kids are self-styled noble socialist warriors. The other being their appalling schools.

I met many grandees: agents, famous musicians, actors, and film, play, book writers. Producers and publishers. People whose names you would recognize. I mean I had dinner with Al Pacino and gave a lunch for Princess Diana. I spent one New Year’s Eve with just the stunningly beautiful 90s breakout star Terence Trent D’Arby, me and my two best friends. I spent a week at Neil Young’s ranch in California and partied with Elvis Costello, and all those, but Diana, were purely social, with ‘friends’. Hundreds more work related.

Every individual, every single one, was a socialist, which is to say, they believed in capturing the wealth of the ‘rich’ and redistributing it fairly. As they thought fit.

The only difference between them and me was that by the time I was 30 I knew their ideas fully expressed, led to catastrophic bankruptcy across the board. They had no idea, no grasp of history, they lived in dreams. The left’s goal is always to break human reason, and when it comes to culture workers, it has effectively done so.

And then there’s the public opprobrium:

When I first started writing into the ideas of the right, I was policy-ignorant. I had a weekly column on the op-ed page of a national broadsheet. I needed ideas. The blowback was instant. Hate mail upon hate mail. Death threats, written, phoned in, email. Stalkers. One rich madman who moved to the island, a mile through the forest from my house, proceeded to make my life miserable for twelve years. “Everything you think is wrong”, he emailed through my newspaper’s email. He was going to reeducate me, or kill me. He was going to hire people to come to the island at night, creep up to my house, kill me, and vanish. He had the money and the limitless confidence to do just that. Two court cases and finally he died of pneumonia from life-long alcoholism. He was a trader, had a seat on the exchange.

I lost every connection in publishing, newspapers, magazines and books. No one would read anything I wrote, no one would answer calls. I was covered in ants. Not that I tried. …

Wake up!

We are facing something very dark and very bad, and despite various dismissals from people on the right, the Democrat party is undergoing a Marxist takeover. I take it seriously.

We’ve invited in millions who want what we have and will take it anyway they can, and our economy has been so broken by corruption and the mind-blowing stupidity of green/climate policies, we have stolen the lives of two generations.

A vast cohort is forming that wants to throw it all away, junking the furious, bitter sacrifice and devotion of 100 generations. Every single one of us was birthed from heroes and heroines who stood up to the evil of their day, survived and pushed us forward just a little bit. The cultural left has hid that heroism from us. …

When cracks of truth first appeared for her:

Time [Magazine] hurled me into hundreds if not thousands of interviews with politicians, artists, deposed kings and princes, scientists, torture victims, blood-soaked IRA chiefs, crooks and Nobel Prize winners. These encounters established a larger reality for me and hairline cracks appeared in my world view.

I became European bureau chief of Life magazine and one day Nelson Mandela’s lawyer, Ismail Ayoub, walked into my office and offered me the rights to Nelson’s autobiography. Tout London wanted to know how an obscure Canadian girl with no political heft got the rights to Long Walk to Freedom. There were a couple of reasons; Mandela was familiar with Life which had long treated him as a hero, and one of Time’s South African stringers was a one-time lover of Winnie. The clincher, I suspect, was that I had met Joe Slovo, and was friends with his daughter. I was safe.

When Nelson was released, I went to Soweto, and while waiting for our meetings I interviewed the wives of the men who had been in Robben Island with him. One day I had lunch in a tiny bungalow, owned by a woman whose brother attended. His face was badly scarred, he was missing an eye, and more than a few teeth. One shoulder had been broken and twisted and he couldn’t walk without a lurch. He said he had been tortured by the ANC in Zambia. I said, you mean the South African police or the military. No, he said, by the ANC; at one of their camps, he disagreed with their methods and ideas. He was not a communist, but had leadership potential, so they broke him. I didn’t believe him.

After Time, I wrote a book about the CIA’s mind control experiments in Canada. My English agent was a socialist, despite his childhood as the son of a wealthy Jewish peer. My publishers, both in the UK and Canada, two of the most august literary editors working at the time, were left of center, as were the staff. Because I had met Prime Minister Thatcher, they would ask: “Why was she so popular? What do they see in her?” People who voted for the right were deemed to be primitive and lacking virtue and the allegiance to Thatcher from “the people” confounded them. I am ashamed to say I agreed. In the world in which I lived — literature, theatre, film, design — everyone saw the right as devoid of compassion for the less advantaged. Exploiters all. And profoundly racist.

Change came rapidly. The catalyst was my father saying at a family dinner in Vancouver, when I was at the magic age of 40, that I reminded him of my great-great-grandmother, who declared in 1850, at the age of 20, that marriage was slavery, and set off to see the world. …

I began to comb my way through the family papers which were lodged in tiny libraries all through eastern Canada and the U.S. And immediately fell into a kind of trance from which I have not fully awoken.

The first thing I discovered was that they were Christian. And I mean very, very Christian. This was unnerving since on the intellectual left, faith in God, and particularly Christ, signifies a weak mind. But these people were anything but weak. They had been town, church and infrastructure builders from the time they arrived in 1630…. They also fought for the Indians …

The tiny museums through upper New York State and the Niagara peninsula had thousands of documents, photographs, letters, diaries, all original source material. To my dismay, however, none fit the narrative we were aiming for. Evidence of my great-great-grandmother’s oppression did not exist. She was not oppressed, she was free to do what she liked. Free to travel, not marry, and support herself by her own hand. The women of her family were decidedly not of the whining pathetic Susanna Moodie archetype so beloved by Margaret Atwood. They were mightily strong. They loved pioneering, and when they saw a problem, they damn well solved it.

This simply would not do for a modern publisher. There was none of the barbarism expected of those unenlightened times. Instead it was a 400-year history of a family who, like all the other families they knew, constituted a parade of virtue and strength. By 1900, there had been so much enthusiastic breeding and pioneering, a vast cousinage reached through every sector of the culture, stretching from sea to sea in both Canada and the U.S. Finally one of the librarians, after another afternoon of my obsessive digging for dirt, declared in frustration, “Look, they were good people.” …

Now:

It was now clear to me that our contemporary story tellers were telling lies. They had utterly corrupted our idea of our country and culture, religion and past. They misread the very ground of human character. They had taught us that with few exceptions, we came from exploiters, oppressors of natives and blacks.

All the “great” writers of our time read to me now as depressives caught in an almost demonic fiction, charlatans who had seized the criminal and disaffected and made of them the norm that must be defeated and replaced by another system. And that system was inevitably command and control socialism.

Ten years after the ANC took over South Africa, Oxbridge scholar R.W. Johnson moved home to South Africa and started a think tank. Joe Slovo, I discovered through reading his research, was an assassin, who ran torture/re-education camps in Zambia and who ranged through Europe neutralizing any African potential leader black or white, who could stand in the way of the communist party in the new Africa. I had set my lodestar on evil.

AI breaks the ancient link between intelligence and human rank

AI breaks the ancient link between intelligence and human rank. By SightBringer.

For most of civilization, intelligence was one of the main ladders of human hierarchy. The smarter person could interpret reality better, command symbols better, build tools better, persuade better, calculate better, remember more, manipulate systems more effectively, and accumulate power. Intelligence was not only a trait. It was a claim to authority.

AI detonates that claim.

Once machine cognition exceeds human cognition across measurable domains, intelligence stops being a scarce human asset and becomes infrastructure. Like electricity. Like roads. Like cloud compute. Like money.

The question becomes less “who is smartest?” and more “who controls access to the intelligence layer?” …

Status redefined:

A child born today may grow up in a world where raw cognitive superiority is no longer a human aspiration. There will always be brilliant humans, but even brilliant humans will operate next to systems that can read more, remember more, simulate more, code more, translate more, synthesize more, and generate more possible paths than any biological mind.

That creates a psychic wound because modern society trained humans to locate dignity in cognitive advantage. Grades. Test scores. Degrees. Credentials. Professional status. Meritocracy. Expertise. The whole white-collar order rests on the idea that superior cognition deserves superior placement.

AI makes that order metaphysically unstable. ….

The danger:

The danger is not that AI becomes smarter than humans. The danger is that smarter-than-human systems become embedded inside institutions that already prefer control over freedom.

A model with superior cognition inside a free person’s hands is leverage.

A model with superior cognition inside a surveillance bureaucracy is a cage.

The biggest danger is that once in a global cage of AI-powered totalitarianism, we will never be able to escape.

Australian Labor has gone anti-Israeli to unite its woke activists with its Islamic foot-soldiers

Australian Labor has gone anti-Israeli to unite its woke activists with its Islamic foot-soldiers. By Henry Ergas in The Australian.

In fact, Israel is about the only issue that these two parts of Labor’s camp can agree on.

Labor policy is awesomely one-sided and morally crazy. It could have been written by an Islamic government of Australia:

China launches the missile; Israel gets the indictment. That, in miniature, is the moral and strategic universe of the ALP’s draft national platform. In it, the real threat to Australia’s national security is not Xi Jinping; it is Bibi Netanyahu.

The numbers speak for themselves. China, which is undertaking the largest military expansion since World War II, coercing us economically and fielding nuclear-capable missiles and submarines in striking range of Australia itself, receives 76 words in the draft platform, including a perfunctory wish for peace in the Taiwan Strait.

Israel, the true supervillain, gets 447 and its own dedicated named section — beating China nearly sixfold — while receiving 64 words for every word devoted to Russia, whose invasion of Ukraine has caused more than 500,000 deaths. …

Domestic terrorism receives a single generic sentence, naming no agency, no incident and no perpetrators….

Yet when it comes to Israel, no level of detail is spared. The platform condemns the democratically elected Knesset, demands sanctions over allegedly “discriminatory laws” and displays a degree of prescription and moral certainty conspicuously absent elsewhere.

By contrast, China’s internment camps, its systematic repression of religious liberty and the destruction of Hong Kong’s freedoms are passed over in silence.

There is, of course, the obligatory excoriation of the Jewish settlements on the West Bank and of “settler violence”. But the platform prudently resiles from observing that on any even vaguely plausible figures, there have been more Palestinian terrorist attacks on settlers in every single year than there have been violent incidents attributable to settlers over the past decade.

Nor does Labor think it worth noting that the settlements occupy just 3.1 per cent of Area C, the part of the West Bank whose ultimate disposition was expressly reserved for final-status negotiations.

Meanwhile, China’s militarisation of the South China Sea — which is blatantly illegal under international law and a direct threat to Australia’s own security – does not secure a single word.

Stranger still, the conditions the government itself attached to recognising Palestine last September — that the Palestinian Authority demilitarise, hold elections, end payments to the families of suicide bombers and imprisoned terrorists, and remove violent antisemitism from school textbooks — have simply vanished. Hamas’s disarmament, which Penny Wong invoked two dozen times in the 12 months after October 7, has likewise disappeared. As for Hezbollah, it is as if it didn’t exist.

And at home? Reading this document, you would never know that merely eight months ago a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach was the target of a murderous Islamic State-inspired terrorist attack that killed 15 people – the deadliest terrorist attack in Australian history.

Antisemitism receives just two passing mentions, both filed as a “global problem” that is bracketed with Islamophobia, never once named as something happening to Australians, on Australian soil. …

Jews are excluded from Labor’s Australia:

LGBTQI+ Australians receive a dedicated 233-word section. Australian Jews receive none. No less marked is the contrast in commitments. Labor promises to strengthen legal protections for LGBTQI+ Australians against vilification and hate crimes. But when it comes to Australian Jews, there is not even a commitment to preserve the protections that already exist. …

It’s not even about Israel or Jews any more:

These gaps are not random errors. … It is the same trick a marriage counsellor recognises instantly: the fight about who left the dishes in the sink that is never really about the dishes.

The dispute has ceased to be about its stated subject and instead serves as the vessel into which a dozen other unrelated antagonisms are poured, until the issue itself matters less than everything that has been loaded on to it.

That happens in politics, too. An issue becomes the symbolic marker or fault line along which the society’s searing divisions crystallise, with the “all or nothing” choice of a side acting as the litmus test of political identity and credibility. …

Israel is today’s condensation issue, which is why the Gaza war — ranked, by any serious casualty count, well behind the wars in Ukraine, Sudan, Yemen, Congo and Tigray — commands six times the attention the platform gives to the nuclear-armed power most drastically endangering Australia’s strategic environment.

China barely gets a paragraph because almost nothing is being projected on to China. Israel gets a section because every hatred, every tension, every cultural marker, is.

Facts are irrelevant, because Jews are morally excluded in Labor’s Australia:

But condensation accounts for how an issue becomes an obsession; it does not explain the tone. For that you need a second, far uglier mechanism: moral exclusion. Condensation explains why Israel occupies so much space; moral exclusion for why it is treated so differently once it does.

Moral exclusion works by placing a party outside the ordinary rules of fairness. Having been made into a pariah, criticising it no longer requires balance, evidence or restraint, as it has already been written out of the community to which those standards apply.

And with every norm swept away, the beliefs that underpin the exclusion become completely impervious to reality. Evidence ceases to function as evidence. Facts that contradict the narrative are ignored, discounted or reinterpreted, while real — or more often concocted — claims that appear to confirm it acquire almost unlimited moral weight.

Why is this the issue of the day?

Why Israel? Because it is the one target on which political forces that share only their outrage can converge.

  1. Islamist antisemitism provides the ready-made, centuries-deep script in which Jews – referred to in classical Islamic texts as “apes and pigs” – stand for corruption, conspiracy and defilement.
  2. The activist left [sees through the woke lens of oppressor/oppressed that Israelis are] “settler colonialists” and Palestinians become the epitome of every other anti-colonial cause.
  3. And nothing appeals more starkly to the leftists — who are proud to be ashamed of being Australian — than despising those who actually love their country and value its achievements, as Israelis so plainly do. …

Three different motives; one convenient target.

Creating antisemitism:

A political party that conspicuously discards the normal rules of proportion and evidence where Israel is concerned — as this platform so blatantly does — is a party that is deliberately and systematically courting the antisemitic vote.

But disproportionate hostility to Israel does not merely attract antisemites; it creates them. …

Labor is being reckless with our security, Australia’s morals, and Islam:

That is what makes this platform so dangerous. It is reckless about China. It is reckless about Australia’s national security. It is reckless about the threat of Islamist terrorism. And it is especially reckless about antisemitism.

To say this is not to suggest that a paragraph in a party platform can cause a terrorist massacre. But politics does something more subtle and ultimately far more enduring: it decides which prejudices are respectable, which hatreds are excusable and which victims cease to count. Bondi Beach occurred under Labor’s watch. Eight months later, it cannot even bring itself to name that attack and mourn its victims.

The crocodile tears are gone; Labor, at last, has told Australians plainly where its sympathies lie. But above all it has told us this: which Australians it is prepared to abandon.

The party that is all too fond of identity politics, and discriminating by race, gender and religion, has found a new target. Woe betide the Jews in Australia. Labor needs this issue to unite its woke activists and its Islamic foot-soldiers. Communism and Islamism together.

Israel is different

Israel is different. By Andrew Fox:

If all other aspects of Gaza were the same, but Israel was a hypothetical Arab state fighting other Arabs in Gaza, literally nobody in the West would give a shit.

Barely a peep when Assad gassed his own people or HTS [Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, a Sunni Islamist militant group] slaughtered the Druze.

Is a marriage between woke and Islam sustainable, to use one of woke’s favorite words? The signs are not encouraging. This is hilarious. A gay cruise ship in the Mediterranean was turned away from Turkey, now Egypt, and the passengers are shocked and outraged by it! So much learning ahead for them.

Crime rate much higher in Australian and Canada than in the US

Crime rate much higher in Australian and Canada than in the US. By John Lott at RealClear Investigations.

Yes, really, despite what left’s narratives about the evils of the US. The dry statistics tell the truth.

Other nations point to crime as an Achilles heel of the American system. These include two peer nations with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world — Australia and Canada.

In 2025, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that “the U.S. generally sees higher violent crime rates than many other countries.”

The data, however, undercuts this narrative. While the United States still leads in some categories, on the whole it has significantly less violent crime per capita than those two nations.

Regarding homicide, the most heinous crime of all, it’s true that in 2025, the U.S. murder rate was about four per 100,000 people – roughly twice Australia’s and Canada’s 2024 homicide rate. Yet it’s also true that homicides account for only a tiny fraction of violent crime. …

Getting statistics right:

Because police statistics capture only a fraction of actual crime, the U.S., Canada, and Australia all conduct large-scale victimization surveys that estimate total crime, including incidents never reported to police.

The Bureau of Justice Statistics has conducted the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), which interviews roughly 240,000 Americans annually, for more than 50 years. Australia relies on a comparable survey conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, while Statistics Canada conducts the General Social Survey (GSS) on Safety and Victimization. …

Conclusion:

Using these broad estimates, Australia’s rape and sexual assault rate is roughly three times higher than that of the United States. Australia’s assault rate is about twice as high, and its burglary rate is about 2.5 times higher. Robbery is the only category where the two countries report similar rates.

But even this Australian data significantly understates the extent of violent crime because it counts victims rather than the number of crimes, unlike the U.S. data. If someone is robbed or sexually assaulted twice, the Australian survey records only one victimization, while the U.S. counts two separate crimes.

In Australia, there are numerous complaints that “Rape is effectively decriminalized.” In New South Wales, of the 9,138 sexual assaults reported to police in 2022, there were only 1,016 convictions – just an 11% conviction rate. Indeed, during a recent lecture that I gave to college students in New South Wales in February, several women said there was no reason to report rapes and sexual assaults to the police because they believed nothing would happen to the criminal and it was personally embarrassing to come forward publicly.

As a result, an analysis based solely on police statistics can be misleading when comparing countries. Victimization surveys tell a different story. …

Consistent across two decades at least:

Nor is this pattern unique to recent years. The International Crime Victimization Survey (ICVS), which used identical questions and definitions across participating countries before the United Nations assumed responsibility for the survey and later discontinued it, reached similar conclusions. In 2000, Australia’s violent-crime victimization rate — including robbery, sexual incidents, assaults, and threats – was 104% higher than the U.S. rate. Robbery was 150% higher and sexual assaults 167.9% higher….

Canada:

Other countries:

The ICVS found that England and Wales and Scotland had violent crime rates about 40% higher than the United States, while Finland’s rate was about 20% higher. France, the Netherlands, and Sweden recorded rates roughly equal to the U.S., whereas Belgium and Poland experienced violent crime rates about 20% lower.

On homicide and guns, the left routinely lies by omission, by not dis-aggregating homicides by blacks (about half the US total, despite being only 12% of the population) and whites.

  • The homicide rate with guns by whites is about the same as it is in all white countries.
  • The homicide rate with guns by blacks is about the same as it is in Africa, which is about ten times higher than in pre-mass-immigration Europe.

The US overall rate is therefore about twice than other predominately white countries (arithmetic average).

Knowledge of other countries is no longer a rare and hard-won treasure

Knowledge of other countries is no longer a rare and hard-won treasure. By John Carter.

You can actually watch white xenophilia disappearing in real time.

We were once the most curious people on the planet. Direct contact via mass immigration and indirect contact via the Internet has ripped off the veil of mysterious exoticism. …

Knowledge of other countries is no longer a rare and hard-won treasure, but a burden imposed by the necessity of navigating life in the noisy hellhole of the multicultural post-west.

Similar story with travel:

Being well travelled was once a mark of distinction, indicating either wealth or an adventurous spirit.

Now every foid with a fake email job goes traveling three times a year to “find herself” in Spain or Bali or wherever. Oceans that once carried intrepid explorers now schlep around boomers Spending Kid’s Inheritance on package tours. “Travel” is mostly just a consumer lifestyle product now.

We’ve been changed by mass migration, the Internet, and cheap and safe international air travel.

NGO prevents police cleaning up skid row because it would hurt their income. By Wall Street Apes.

My jaw literally dropped listening to this.

The Los Angeles Police Department came and tried to clean up Skid Row and in a response a nonprofit working with Mayor Karen Bass sued them and stopped police from even being allowed to enter.

“LA CAN, which is another organization (an NGO), they get very, very upset and they sue the LAPD when they come and do street cleaning down here. And they’re basically saying that their encampments are their Private property. Police can’t enter, and they sued the police more than any other organization”

Translation: They are suing to keep the homeless population right where they are so the NGO homeless money laundering industrial complex keeps running …

Pure insanity. It’s criminal

California is the often held up as the future of the USA, which is the future of the world. For many decades now, trends starting in California have reliably spread throughout the West.

Both major Californian cities (SF & LA) are now Democrat controlled, have been for decades, and will be forever because the voting is rigged. Both cities have become shitholes at their centers, though the suburbs are still quite livable. Democrat rule clearly makes cities nasty and dangerous (think also Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, …), but leftists continue to do it because the leftist establishment gets paid to do  it … by the leftist establishment, with taxpayer money, via political control that has verged into the criminal.

The example above shows yet again that there is nothing these people won’t do to stay in power and keep their income flowing.

Is it spreading beyond the USA? The Australian city most advanced along these lines is obviously Melbourne …

The left insults us — Gaza edition

The left insults us — Gaza edition. By Chris Kenny in The Australian.

When people you know and care about accuse you of supporting the murder of 70,000 people, the bombing of babies and genocide, it is impossible not to take offence. The astonishing level of hatred is insulting, but you need to remind yourself it is the result of wild propaganda and misinformation about the Gaza conflict.

Sure, you cannot help but feel disappointed in people swallowing jaundiced coverage or outright lies and omissions from the ABC, SBS, The Guardian or a whole range of other mainstream media, but you need to understand that this, tragically, is the “narrative” they are immersed in. What do you say to them? How can you ever get them to confront reality?

These are not ranting students or Islamist hardliners marching in the streets chanting “From the river to the sea” or “Death, death to the IDF”. We can reassure ourselves that we will not need to deal with those zealots, who are beyond reason.

When friends, acquaintances, and family members make these awful claims it amounts to an assault on your moral fibre. It is personal and terrible.

Truth? The left started saying 40 years ago that there is no truth, only power. “Critical theory,” they called it.

The anti-Israel propaganda is widespread, sure, but with just a little effort people can gain access to the facts, and with a some critical thinking they can expose many of the lies.

Most people do not read this newspaper or The Wall Street Journal, or watch Sky News, they do not go to primary sources, so they are left with a jaundiced narrative. Many rely mainly on snippets from social media, while others rely on the ABC or free websites that pump out a constant diet of anti-Israel coverage.

In the post-truth world, it is the narrative that prevails over facts and reality. And the chosen narrative of the progressives who dominate debate is Palestinian victimhood, along with malign intent from Israel.

This is not new, it has been a growing trend in response to political events over the past few decades, so that just two days after the unspeakable atrocities of October 7 I was able to predict on air that “just you wait, within days there will be more criticism of Israel than of Hamas”. …

Can’t the left summon even a tiny bit of skepticism?

Strange how all the mistakes demonise Israel. And peculiar how stories that are clearly implausible are amplified with wide-eyed enthusiasm. …

Cerebral palsy was presented as starvation (does the mother look starving? the kid’s brother, just out of shot, was anything but starving)

How can Israel be involved in a genocide when the growth of the Palestinian population has outstripped Israel’s? Given the military might of Israel and the urban density of Gaza, how could the population in Gaza have fallen by only 100,000 people — equivalent to the number of people who have been able to flee the territory – during two years of intense warfare?

Israel must be conducting the most incompetent genocide in history. Perhaps warning civilians about where you will attack by dropping leaflets, making phone calls, issuing text messages and posting warnings on websites while facilitating safe passage routes for evacuations before you strike is not the best way to maximise civilian casualties.

How could the ABC and other media pretend away these key and uncontested facts? Instead, they have encouraged people to believe that Israel has deliberately targeted civilians — precisely the opposite of reality. …

Claims of genocide are not only offensive but ridiculous. There would hardly be anyone alive in Gaza today if not for the electricity, fuel, water, food and medical supplies that come from and through Israel (admittedly restricted by war). …

We have had politicians, media and activists routinely accusing Israel of war crimes, usually on spurious grounds, while for more than two years, on clearly verifiable facts, Hamas was involved in the daily war crime of targeting civilians and holding civilians hostages.

This illustrates the political problem of our times — the left has gone nuts, they are in your face, and they will not listen to reason or evidence. But why?

Obviously the truth has nothing to do with the left’s narrative on Gaza — the merest contact with facts or reason dispels their narrative. No, the left is all about virtue-signaling to other leftists, and more importantly, bringing down whoever stands between Team-Left and power/money.

Telstra outage caused by high tax rates

Telstra outage caused by high tax rates. By Jared Lynch in The Australian.

In March, the communications regulator ignored almost everyone, except the rattling of the government’s big piggy bank, to impose a $7.3bn tax grab on telcos via spectrum — that thin air that mobile networks operate on — renewals.

This was up from an earlier assessment of $5bn to $6.2bn. Telstra argued that renewal price tag for the whole sector should be capped closer to $3.9bn.

Why? That money has to come from somewhere, and telcos which are experiencing stagnant revenue growth have two choices: hike prices (which Telstra already did in May) or trim back on capital expenditure and network investment.

The latter is the more palatable but more dangerous option. …

You can’t tax your way to prosperity, nor can you tax your way to more resilience telco networks.

Look at what others are doing to solve the problem:

Many countries in Europe have woken up to this, while our antipodean leaders are still rubbing their bleary eyes.

For example, Portugal has renewed key mobile spectrum rights for up to 15 years for free, demanding new coverage obligations in hundreds of under-served parishes in return.

France granted licence renewals without fees, after operators agreed to an accelerated 4G rollout and guaranteed nationwide, high-quality coverage. …

The technical landscape has changed:

The triple-0 model was originally designed for the fixed-line Telstra copper network, which provided resilience via battery backup in exchanges even during power outages.

But the rollout of the NBN and the migration to mobile networks has undermined this resilience, and shifted the burden to mobile operators without clear, government-mandated standards for investment in redundancy and resilience. …

Data centre baron Bevan Slattery says … “mobile operators have never signed up to providing 100 per cent uptime and the continual pile-on every time there is an outage is making the ability to attract talent and investment incredibly difficult.

Make a law to stop the tide coming in, Canberra. Or change the weather a hundred years from now.

There are no members of Federal Parliament with science or engineering degrees, except for Malcom Roberts (One Nation senator from Queensland) and Zaneta Mascarenhas (Labor MP from WA).

Btw, there is only one member of Federal Parliament who has been thrown in prison for political activity. Pauline Hanson, the leader of the only populist party, speaking for policy positions that 80% of us want.

Is India Colonizing Australia?

Is India Colonizing Australia? By Craig Kelly.

We know why Modi is smiling. His Colony in Australia, stripped over A$10 billion (US$7.3 billion) of wealth from the Australian economy and shipped it back to India in 2024 alone. In 2026 it will be higher again.

And we know why Albanese is smiling —  because he’s importing future Labor voters so he can rule indefinitely. …

With 1 million people born in India now living in Australia — Modi is celebrating the Indian colonisation of Australia. …

It took 70 years from the arrival of the First Fleet for the Australian population to hit the one million mark — in just a few years one million people born in India now live in Australia.

Why is a foreign leader holding a political rally in Australia? Where is the first loyalty of the tens of thousands in the audience? Australia or a foreign nation?

India can use our uranium, but we cannot!

Fred Pawle:

Self-loathing Victorian Premier Jacinta Allen tells a stadium full of Indian immigrants that there is no such thing as Australian culture, so there’s no need for them to even bother assimilating with the locals. And the Indians go crazy!

Warrior (who is in India, and joined X six years ago):

We have a population of over 1.4 billion people.

Our long term goal is to relocate 10% of our population to Australia. At the current pace, we’re making steady progress, and we expect to achieve this goal sooner…

Australian women love Indian men. They rank Indian men highly for their loyalty, culture, and confidence. We will marry beautiful Australian women, settle in Australia, and raise our children there.

Commenters:

Multiculturalism at its finest. Bringing India to every Victorian, like it or not. Does anyone actually see themselves as Australian any more? …

Hindu extremists migrate to Christian-majority countries for better jobs, safety, education, and opportunities then some fantasize about dominating the same society and pushing Christians out. They enjoy freedom and tolerance abroad while dreaming of religious supremacy.

Yes, that’s all delightful, but will Indians in Australia always vote for the Labor Party? What if they vote for Indian parties? Could it go wrong for Labor? (Hint: Fiji)

An Indian friend from when I used to live in California would joke that every year India added people equal to the entire Australian population.
