Covid: East Germany Re-Emerges

Covid: East Germany Re-Emerges

This is hilarious. From this blog, this is a map of Omicron BA.5 incidence in Germany:

The former East Germany is outlined in green and you will note that it has a lower infection rate than the former West Germany. Which reflects the different vaccination rates of the two former German republics:

The former East Germany has a lower vaccination rate than the former West Germany, and this has resulted in a lower incidence of the latest covid variant. It seems, though the Berlin Wall fell more than 30 years ago, the former East Germans have a race memory of distrusting government pronouncements and edicts, for self-preservation. This instinct has served them well at a time when the only reason governments bother to tell us anything is in order to lie to us.

As well as making pronouncements and issuing edicts, government health officials can lead by example. The world’s leading health bureaucrat, Anthony Fauci, has had four doses of spike protein (labelled as vaccinations) and is thus more likely to be infected with covid than if he had remained unvaccinated. He has duly contracted covid and it seems that it is not a mild case, because he elected to take a course of paxlovid. Paxlovid inhibits viral replication but it also causes renal impairment which is a more polite way of saying that it gives your kidneys a good whacking (and liver too). So a course of tablets — three tablets twice a day — should be only taken for five days before the kidney damage becomes more permanent.

But paxlovid only inhibits covid, and doesn’t necessarily clear it from the system. So Dr Fauci’s covid duly rebounded and he has elected to take a second course of paxlovid, giving his kidneys another whacking in the process. Rebound of covid from paxlovid is entirely predictable because Pfizer removed the vaccinated from its trial of paxlovid. Their impaired immune systems make it more likely that the vaccinated will not clear the virus during the five day course of treatment. (Pfizer also skewed enrollment of the trial on its covid vaccine to 75% female because they knew that the spike protein would cause myocarditis in males.)

Dr Fauci has led by example — as in what not to do: don’t get vaccinated, don’t get covid and, if you do, don’t use antivirals that merely inhibit replication for a while. (Instead, rely upon antivirals that bind to the spike protein.)

Fauci has refused to retire, likely because of the royalties from drug companies he is getting, but a prolonged bout of covid might finish off the little imp. No tears will be shed because it was he, in the interregnum between the Obama and Trump regimes, who gave the green light to EcoHealth to go off to Wuhan and do the gain of function research that resulted in the biggest pestilence since the Plague in the 14th century.

A majority in the populations of the Western world have now been vaccinated and are thus more prone to a covid infection. The vaccinated have tuned their immune systems to make antibodies to a prior version of the spike protein. Their antibodies have lower efficacy against subsequent versions of the spike protein from later viral variants. This explains why the vaccinated have a higher proclivity for infection and why vaccine efficacy goes negative after a few months.

The Canadian Prime Minister, a big enforcer of vaccine mandates, has been vaccinated and took a booster shot on 4th January, 2022. He was duly infected with covid later that month on 31st January and re-infected on 13th June, four and and half months later. The question is: how fast will re-infections come from here? In theory, each bout of covid gives your immune system a whacking (depletion of CD8+ T cells) which will mean that you are more likely to be re-infected. So with covid endemic, the time between covid re-infections should keep falling, in theory. This will be an interesting number to track – the fate of Western Civilization is dependent upon it. Because the trend, if it emerges, will be self-reinforcing and exponential.

Covid has a number of pathologies but it also has a sweeper feature. From this paper:

… the nucleocapsid protein in SARS-CoV-2, which is responsible for packaging RNA into the virion, contains a number of highly amyloidogenic short peptide sequences within its intrinsically disordered regions.

These peptides self-assemble into amyloid nanofibrils, which would have similar cytotoxic and inflammatory functions to amyloid assemblies that are the molecular hallmarks of amyloid-related neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s (Aβ, Tau) and Parkinson’s (α-synuclein). Anyone who has had covid has increased their chance of developing these nasty neurodegenerative diseases.

But we can choose another fate, if we want to. Shanghai, a population of 25 million living on top of each other, has successfully gone zero covid. By their example, we can get rid of covid any time we care to make the effort. The unknown is how much pain and suffering we will have to go through before the necessity to do so becomes apparent.
