What motivates the moves against AI?

What motivates the moves against AI? By William Meijer.

One reason the masses rebel against AI is that they correctly assess that AI is most useful to smart people (not them).

AI shifts human work from execution to orchestration, and orchestration is more cognitively demanding.

Smaller and smaller teams of smart people will be able to deliver more and more, while cognitively modest haters fade into irrelevance.

And why are the people who run the world now reining in AI development? Because they currently run the world and they don’t want competition from smart people. Whites and Jews are constant threats to their power, but they have that situation under control with (a) mass migration from the third world into their countries, and (b) the rise (again!) of antisemitism.

But small groups of smart people whose abilities are magnified by AI probably terrifies them.

In the middle ages, under feudalism, those in control were content to limp along with poor societies and very slow tech development for centuries — so long as they were in charge. It’s all about relative status, and power, not absolute standard of living.
