The postmodern wokies regard truth as irrelevant or non-existent — for them, there is only power. The Russians of the Soviet era were the the masters of misinformation. So, this conflict involving a woke US ruling class and a Russian ex-KGB leader was always going to be full of lies.
I am trying to determine if I fell for Ukrainian propaganda last night with my post about the Russian attack on a maternity hospital. There is no doubt that a maternity hospital was hit by the Russians, and devastated. And there is no doubt that Russian forces in other engagements have been known to hit hospitals (e.g., in Syria).
What is in doubt is the number of casualties. All we have are Ukrainian government figures. …
The Russians say that the hospital had been evacuated, and that Ukrainian soldiers were using it as a place from which to fire at Russians, and to draw their fire. Why would they do that? To get headlines [such as “Hospital hit as attacks on civilians grow”] …
There is no doubt that Russia hit a maternity hospital. The question is whether or not there were patients inside it, and whether or not the Ukrainian military drew Russian fire deliberately on it for a propaganda victory. Here’s video that might boost the Ukrainian story that there were people in the hospital: …

Remember how the US and Kuwaiti governments produced the Kuwaiti nurse who testified to Congress about invading Iraqi soldiers who killed babies in the maternity ward of the Kuwait City hospital? That atrocity story helped build domestic US support for the first Gulf War. It turned out that the “nurse” was actually the teenage daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to the US, and had been coached by an American PR firm.
The reason why we should be far more careful about Ukrainian propaganda — and I’m chastising myself here too — is that Zelensky is doing his dead-level best to draw NATO into this war. …
Zelensky risks overplaying his hand by pushing too hard for Western publics to pressure their leaders to enter the war by trying a no-fly zone. Zelensky has been putting out propaganda all along, as, of course, have the Russians. Such is war. But this maternity hospital thing could be a game-changer. There is something so primal about an army attacking a haven for women and babies …
The temptation for Zelensky and his people to exaggerate or to outright lie about Russian atrocities is massive. …
Does it not bother you that Twitter takes it upon itself to decide what you can and cannot hear/read about the war? It censored these tweets from the Russian Embassy in London:
Notice how it is the same woman is in all of the shots above? The Ukrainians say she is a mum injured in the hospital blast and evacuated, while the Russians say she is just an actor. Well, it turns out she is a new mum.
Pregnant beauty blogger ‘Marianna’ posted pictures on his Instagram weeks before the maternity hospital in Mariupol was bombed
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, told a news conference earlier in the day that the hospital was a ‘legitimate target’ because there were no patients in it at the time of the attack and it had been overtaken by ‘extremists’ from the Azov Brigade which is defending the city. …
At the same press conference, Lavrov claimed that Russia ‘never attacked Ukraine’ and denounced international outcry over the hospital attack as ‘pathetic’. …
Sergei Orlov, deputy mayor of Mariupol, said he is ‘absolutely sure’ the Russians knew they were bombing a hospital when they launched the attack late yesterday — adding ‘this is the third hospital they have destroyed’ after a 300-bed Covid unit and blood bank were targeted on Tuesday. …
It is hardly the first time that Russian commanders have been accused of deliberately striking hospitals. During the bombing of Aleppo, in Syria, humanitarian groups said Putin’s warplanes had systematically blown up medical facilities in the city before Bashar al-Assad’s troops rolled in to seize it.
My guess: I’m mostly going with the Ukrainians on this one, if only because the Russians are definitely lying about not attacking Ukraine, and bombing hospitals fits their MO. The hospital might have been mostly evacuated, and it might have been used by Ukrainian military, but the Russians did bomb it, and some patients might have been injured.
Tucker Carlson: Now for the incredible woke lies by the western media and ruling class, as uncovered yesterday:
So brazen. You can read it at the link, but if you haven’t heard the story of the biolabs in the Ukraine before it is perhaps best told out loud.
