Former White House national security adviser and ardent supporter of QAnon, Michael Flynn, allegedly suggested the far-right political conspiracy theory movement is in fact a disinformation campaign orchestrated by the CIA.
In a phone recording apparently by Flynn, he said:
‘I think it’s a disinformation campaign. I think it’s a disinformation campaign that the CIA created. That’s what I believe. Now, I don’t know that for a fact, but that’s what I think it is,’
That makes sense. QAnon is total nonsense, apparently started as a joke. But when it caught on, and some people started to actually believe it, it became yet another tool to discredit opposition to the deep state. Notice how Biden and co. are quick to ridicule any opponent as “QAnon”?
All ruling groups infiltrate opposition groups, and have done for centuries. For example, the FBI infiltrated so many communist groups in 1950s America that people used to joke about meetings where everyone was a state agent.
The modern Deep State goes even further. Its agents within the opposition groups foment actions to make the opposition groups look ridiculous. That’s why so many movements opposed to the deep state (e.g. “white supremacists”, anti-vaxxers, climate skeptics) make so many non-credible statements. No serious person would believe them, so they look like nutters. It’s why opposition groups often have such ridiculous or incompetent leaders — they were selected or aided by the deep state.
Thus the general public are steered away from a manufactured lunatic fringe, and the serious critics of the deep state are ignored or easily discredited by association with the deep-state-infiltrated-and-sponsored lunatic fringe.
They hide the serious critics among a crowd of non-credible and infiltrated critics.
