Ivermectin: Whole of Country Trials in Real Time

Ivermectin: Whole of Country Trials in Real Time. By David Archibald.

The biggest antiviral experiment on the planet is now underway in India. New cases had recently run up to near 400,000 per day but are now falling slightly faster.

India has 29 states and health is run at the state level. The states of Goa and Uttarakhand were the first to approve the use of ivermectin, on 11th May. The state of Tamil Nadu went the other way and removed ivermectin from its treatment protocol and replaced it with the expensive injectable remdesivir. Let’s see how that worked out.

In Goa, daily deaths are at two thirds their peak after a couple of weeks.

In Uttarakhand, daily deaths are at half their peak after a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile in Tamil Nadu:

The daily death rate in Tamil Nadu doubled over May. The people of Tamil Nadu voted in a communist leader of the state and he immediately started killing them with a bad decision, at the same time enriching Gilead Life Sciences (market cap of US$82.9 billion) which owns the remdesivir patent. On the other hand, we are fortunate that the people of Tamil Nadu volunteered to be the control group in India’s big ivermectin trial.

Whole of country trials on ivermectin are good and necessary. What is also necessary is a trial of ivermectin on Covid long-haulers. Long-haulers are those that have been debilitated by the disease, seemingly with no prospect of getting back to a normal life, living as the shells and husks of men with only death as their release. If it works, this means that ivermectin can get into the nerve cells where the virus is hiding out.
