Xi’s Brain Aneurysm

Xi’s Brain Aneurysm, by David Archibald.

According to several sources, President Xi will undergo surgery on an intracranial aneurysm in the next few days. Apparently his condition is worsening and he could become unconscious at any moment.  Xi has established his own National Special Crisis Office in case he cannot rule the country due to his health condition. Members of the politburo have been sent a poster warning them against using Xi’s illness to plot against him.

About 2% of the population develop an aneurysm over their life, but most do not rupture. In the United States about 30,000 people have ruptures each year with 40% of these dying within 24 hours. Another 25% die of complications within the following six months. Symptoms of a ruptured aneurysm usually begin with a sudden agonising headache.

A brain aneurysm is a weak spot in the wall of a blood vessel inside the brain. Initially, the vessel may bulge into a bubble.
