The Trump Accountability Project — Totalitarianism in the USA

The Trump Accountability Project — Totalitarianism in the USA. From the front page of this new website that has sprung up after the election:

It gets worse — they are compiling a list of these people:

New blacklist of ‘Trump sycophants’ inspired by AOC being compiled, by Mia Cathell.

At the behest of ‘squad’ member and New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a blacklist of “Trump sycophants”—entitled “The Trump Accountability Project”—is archiving the names of individuals who “elected, served, funded, supported, and represented” President Donald Trump. …

“Yes, we are,” answered former Obama administration staffer Michael Simon, citing the Trump Accountability Project. “Every Administration staffer, campaign staffer, bundler, lawyer who represented them — everyone.” …

The site is a self-described “permanent record” of those who elected the president, including Trump campaign staffers, Republican National Committee members, and affiliated PACs in 2016 or 2020.

Individuals who donated a “significant amount” — $1000 or more — in efforts to re-elect the president and related campaign committees are also blacklisted.

Others who worked in the Trump administration; endorsed the president in a public light; were appointed to federal boards, commissions, or the judiciary; and staffed law firms that represented the Trump name in any capacity are named. …

Former Pete Buttigieg national surrogates director Emily Abrams wrote before her account went private: “We’re launching the Trump Accountability Project to make sure anyone who took a paycheck to help Trump undermine America is held responsible for what they did.” …

“If you hire someone who remained with the Trump admin after the election, be on notice you will be held accountable by MeidasTouch and we will ensure you are exposed,” warned Geragos & Geragos partner Ben Meiselas who represented professional football player turned-Black Lives Matter activist Colin Kaepernick in his highly-publicized lawsuit against the NFL.

Rod Dreher:

This is totalitarian, straight up. It’s a freaking blacklist! …

One of the things that has become so clear to me over the past few years of writing about Wokeness is how blind people my age (Gen X) and older are to the radicalism of the post-Boomer left. If I didn’t have regular contact with academics and others who work in progressive-heavy professional environments, I would assume that the institutional left was like the kindly liberal professors I had in college back in the 1980s — the kind of people who would never stand for things like the Trump Accountability Project blacklist. Those people are dying out. Emily Abrams and her generation are the present, and the future.

Elections have consequences, said Obama. Tribalism, revenge, and fear. Tolerance and open debate are being cancelled. Step out of the line they proscribe, and you will be punished. You cannot say what you want, only what they want. This is not the way to build a strong or unified society. It didn’t work in the Soviet Union, and it won’t work in the  USA.

Who would ever take a job in a future Republican administration, donate to Republicans, or publicly endorse Republicans in a tweet or comment, knowing that they will be cancelled forever by the elite that run most of the institutions in society? Their names will go on a list. Never to be employed again. A prospective future employer will look you up on the Trump Accountability Program — and if they find your name, either they will not want to hire you, or they will be afraid of hiring you.

The left say they want to “heal” the country, but what they really mean is that the deplorables need to be brought to “heel”.
