Biden Surrogate Jane Fonda Calls COVID ‘God’s Gift to the Left’

Biden Surrogate Jane Fonda Calls COVID ‘God’s Gift to the Left’, by Graham Pico.

Jane Fonda, a Biden campaign surrogate known for fraternizing with enemy soldiers during the Vietnam War, called the coronavirus “God’s gift to the Left.”

“I just think that COVID is God’s gift to the Left,” Fonda said. “That’s a terrible thing to say. I think it was a very difficult thing to send down to us, but it has ripped the band-aid off who [Trump] is and what he stands for and what is being done to average people and working people in this country.”

Fonda famously posed with enemy troops for a photo on an antiaircraft gun in 1972, earning her the nickname “Hanoi Jane” from angered Vietnam veterans.

If it wasn’t for covid, the left wouldn’t have a chance in the upcoming US election.

Also a terrible thing to say, but the US left sabotaged the US lockdown to make it ineffective, and has stifled any discussion of their sabotage.

Lockdowns worked to seriously reduce or even eliminate covid infections in every advanced country except the US. Even the UK eventually got its lockdown to work. Some countries in Europe have since seen a second wave, as has Melbourne due to a quarantine failure, but that’s a subsequent matter.

Only one lockdown failed — in the US. Trump was going to lift it by Easter, in April, but it’s now October and still it drags on. In the US, there are still 25 to 75 thousand new cases per day, as there have been sine early April. Huge fail.

What’s different about the US than all the other lockdowns? Hmmm, ultra difficult technical question. A: The US didn’t close its borders, but all the successful lockdowns did. The UK lockdown didn’t close its borders at first, was not working, then they tightened up their borders and it worked.

Some misguided thinking worthy of a postmodernist arts graduate might be that if you have lockdown then you don’t need to close the border because the virus cannot spread under lockdown!?! So clever that it appeals to the sophisticated stupid. But it’s wrong.

A lockdown merely reduces the average number of new infections caused by each infection (the R0) to less than one. If each case of covid infects only 0.95 people on average, the strain or case eventually dies out — after infecting about 20 more people.

The Melbourne second wave was caused by one or two cases getting through quarantine. That’s all it took.

Now consider the US, where the left refuse to countenance effective borders for selfish political reasons. Suppose there are 50,000 new confirmed infections one day (about the average of the last six months). The US lockdown would reduce that to say 48,000 new confirmed infections next day, if the population were isolated. A reduction of 2,000 daily infections each day, which in a couple of months would get you pretty close to zero. See the Melbourne second wave for an isolated, uncomplicated example of how this works in practice.

But the US population is not isolated. There is considerably incoming traffic, and some of those would have covid (possibly augmented by those coming to the US for healthcare!). Suppose 100 of them have covid. At an R0 of around 0.95, each imported case would go on to cause about 20 more infections, or about 2,000 infections all up. So importing 100 covid cases a day increases the daily infections by 2,000. Which neatly prevents the lockdown in this example from reducing the number of daily infections. Which, on round figures, is probably what is happening — about a hundred new covid infections are entering the US daily. The US southern border? No one knows.

Because the left control the media, they have been able to almost totally nix any discussion of their lack of border control on the virus. I’ve only seen a  couple of local news stories. One was by a naive NY reporter who went to the LaGuardia airport and found that anyone could fly in without any real testing and certainly no quarantine, and that there were indeed covid cases entering the US. But that’s NOT news, so it never got beyond a local report.

So, to sum up, the US left — not Trump — is mainly responsible for the 200k covid deaths in the US.

But the US right is so fixated on the Chinese message of shrugging it off and passing it on that they totally missed this heaven-sent opportunity to make the left close the US borders. Insanely dumb.
