Why the president need not apologize for calling out AOC and her three comrades

Why the president need not apologize for calling out AOC and her three comrades. By Joseph Klein.

[Trump:] “If Democrats want to unite around the foul language & racist hatred spewed from the mouths and actions of these very unpopular & unrepresentative Congresswomen, it will be interesting to see how it plays out.” He added, “they are Anti-Semitic, they are Anti-America, we don’t need to know anything about them personally, talk about their policies. I think they are American citizens who are duly elected that are running on an agenda that is disgusting, that the American people will reject.” …

The Democrat Party is becoming the party of open borders, led by the four radical congresswomen who do not want any enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws, let alone the closing of any loopholes. The four radicals condemned by President Trump … could not care less about protecting the security of the American people. For them, it’s all about protecting the people trying to get into the U.S. illegally or with bogus asylum claims.

Rep. Omar, for instance, …urged extending the welcome mat to all immigrants, no matter if they entered the country illegally, and providing them “with paths to citizenship.” … When anyone challenges her beliefs, she calls them racists and demands that their First Amendment rights be suppressed as hate speech.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who said that much of her “strength comes from being Palestinian,” declared that one of her priorities as a congresswoman is to “provide a clear pathway to citizenship for all undocumented Americans” and to “dismantle our deportation machine and detention centers.” This is the same woman who twisted history when she claimed that her Palestinian “ancestors” tried “to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time.” In truth, her ancestors, like the Palestinian terrorists today, sought to create a graveyard for Jews before, during and after World War II, not a “safe haven.”

In her remarks during last Saturday’s Netroots conference, Rep. Pressley accused “black and brown people” who work for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) of being “a cog in this machine of oppression of people who look just like them.” In Pressley’s way of thinking, a federal law enforcement agent who happens to be black or brown is committing treason against his or her own ethnicity or race by enforcing American law against transgressors of any ethnicity or race, including their own. This is pure tribalism, the antithesis of what it means to be Americans united by the core founding principle that government’s purpose is to secure the lives, liberties and property of a free sovereign people under the rule of law.

Several underlying issues are being bought to a head here.

UPDATE: Donald Trump’s stupid smart attack on the Democratic ‘Squad’, by Freddy Gray.

The danger, of course, is that Trump serves as a kind of toxic glue that binds his enemies together against his re-election. By attacking radical leftist congresswomen in such incendiary terms, he ends up uniting the Democrats.

But Trump’s strategy doesn’t need to split the Democrats. He just needs to keep pushing them to the left of the American mainstream, where the Squad are. The more he can keep Omar and co. in the public eye, the more he wins. Like all things Trump, it is stupid and smart at the same time.
