Our Battle Of Britain

Our Battle Of Britain. Pat Condell is back!

The European Union is a model for an anti-democratic global government. The purpose of the EU is to destroy the nation state and to transform Europe from a rich and diverse continent of sovereign nations into a single homogenous political bloc governed by a committee of unelected bureaucrats who think they know best. And they think we’re so docile and thick that we’ll just roll over and accept it if they keep telling us how sensible it is.

Nobody’s feelings were consulted during the making of this video. Anyone who has a problem with that can drop dead.

Secular universities now demand a lalytly oath to diversity

Secular universities now demand a loyalty oath to diversity, by Christian Schneider.

Professors and other faculty members are asked to pledge their commitment to “equity” and “inclusion” and to demonstrate how they have acted to fulfill this pledge in the past. …

Consider the University of California, Los Angeles. To be considered for tenure-track positions, applicants are required to write a full statement outlining their commitment to diversity. According to UCLA guidelines, the extent to which a professor promotes equity, diversity and inclusion is a key factor in making progress on the tenure track. …

Faculty at Harvard’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences were recently required to submit reports detailing their actions in support of “diversity, inclusion and belonging.” Teachers’ ability to demonstrate wokeness will affect the assignment of future bonuses, per the school’s dean. …

Never you mind about that, we’ll define what diversity means:

Left unsaid is what, exactly, “diversity” means and how to achieve it.

A loyalty oath to political correctness, comrade.

Bill Shorten Appeases the Feminists with Supercharged Danegeld

Bill Shorten Appeases the Feminists with Supercharged Danegeld.

Yesterday in the Australian Leaders Debate Bill Shorten said, in regard to his proposal for the government to pay extra wages to childcare “educators” (via Catallaxy)

I’d put it to you. Childcare educators. There’s only four things that can be done.

1 – They just never get a pay rise. Well that’s not good is it. I think you’d agree with that. 30% turnover. Very important the development of kids.

2 – We ask the parents to pay a lot more. That’s not really viable either with the cost of living crisis under this government.

3 – We just ask all the operators to increase their costs and not pass it on to anyone. That’s not economically rational or reasonable either. Or

4 – The government assists. Provide (sic) money to the child care sector so that workers can get better wages.

This is anti-market, because the ideologues are stepping in and further altering the wages set by supply and demand. That’s always economically inefficient, resulting in worse uses of time and money, for which we all end up poorer, etc, etc.

This is the thin edge of a wedge. Now the government will directly subsidize the wages of politically-chosen people. This is a new wealth transfer from the politically unfavored to the favored. Look where there has got us with identity politics and “affirmative action”. Think it’s going to stop at childcare workers? Every pressure group is going to be angling for some above-market money from their politicians. Guess who is going to end up paying for those subsidies?

Finally, it’s an even greater subsidy for upper middle class career women. Smart women are now encouraged by feminist society to want careers more and kids less. (Who wouldn’t want a cubicle, a smartphone, and a boss, rather than raising their own kids? Never mind … if there are genes involved, such women will be extinct soon.)

To allow feminists to compete with men, they need childcare. Better to get someone else to pay for it — we already have massive childcare subsidies, paid for by taxpayers, mainly men. Still not enough. The market is not providing enough childcare by suitable people — too many lower class women, when it would require higher wages to attract more middle class women into childcare. Sounds like a job for government intervention. How did society ever function without massive government subsidies for upper middle class women? Must have been frightful.

Still, too bad for the kids, the gene pool, and tomorrow’s society, eh?

How Feminism Is Driving The Growing Trend Of Anti-Women Subcultures

How Feminism Is Driving The Growing Trend Of Anti-Women Subcultures, by S.G. Cheah.

My buddy explained how despite persuading his friend against becoming MGTOW, he was still sympathetic to his friend’s excuse for doing so. In his words “Men are disgusted with women in almost every way today and are finding happiness in just cutting them out of their lives.” …

I pressed harder to ask if he could elaborate on exactly what he meant by that. “Look around you. Every girl acts like a dude and has to have more guy friends than her actual boyfriend. Relationships are no longer partnerships. They’re just mutual debauchery based on meaningless sex and fickle mind games. And in most relationships, I see the women being an overbearing * constantly humiliating their dudes.” …

What changed? Why is this happening?

The answer is blatantly clear. Men are losing their reverence for women because feminist ideology promotes the culture of anti-male nihilism through the feminization of men. By extension, it is actively destroying everything that is sacred about women since it robs femininity and masculinity of any meaning.

For instance, when my friend mentioned his observation of wives and girlfriends humiliating their partners, this is, in essence, a reflection of the larger cultural trend where women are encouraged to emasculate men.

The feminist war against masculinity:

The culture establishes that the ideal woman is smarter, stronger, better than the men in every way, and you can always depend on her to swoop in and save the day. This trope is apparent in just about any family sitcom, movies, music, and the literature we consume today. Think — the bumbling fool of a dad in contrast to the highly efficient mom. …

It is not a coincidence that feminism brands strong, capable, action-oriented masculinity as toxic because feminism scorn men for being men.

Feminists have killed healthy male desire:

My friend mentioned there was a time when he, along with his group of friends, wanted so many things in regards to their relationship with women — they wanted to build families, raise children and provide a home for the women they love because this is how they could establish a supportive, lasting relationship with her.

Today’s anti-women movement like the MGTOWs is contrary to these natural masculine desires. And it is feminism which most blatantly attempts to annihilate these desires.

How a Little Money Laundering Can Have a Big Impact on Real Estate Prices

How a Little Money Laundering Can Have a Big Impact on Real Estate Prices, by Stephen Punwasi.

Money laundering is the process of making illegally-gained proceeds appear legit. … The goal is clean money. Parking cash long term in assets is not typical — these aren’t investors. …

The marginal buyer is an important part of any asset market, especially fast moving ones. This is the person(s) or company that’s willing to pay the most for an asset. They are a small percent of the potential buyer pool, but the ones that actually buy the assets. The competition between marginal buyers is key to asset price escalation. …

If the marginal buyer is a rational investor, they’re thinking about liquidity. They’re restrained in their bidding price, because they need to be able to make a profit. Rational consideration helps to keep a market sane. If the buyer isn’t bound by rationale or logic, things start to get sloppy. …

When you buy an asset, whether a home or an oz of pink kush, you try to get the best value for your time and money. You want a deal. … If you are money laundering, that’s not the case.

The objective is to move as much cash, as fast as possible. This often involves large assets, and the bigger the price — the better. … Both the seller and the money laundering buyer want the highest acceptable price. …

Still think a small amount of money can’t influence prices? Clearly you’re not familiar with another asset class – stocks. CNBC host Jim Cramer once ranted that his fund could manipulate stock prices with as little as $5 million. … Academics determined traders can use less than $500,000 to raise a stock price 1%, by targeting the bottom half of the liquidity spectrum. …

Transparency International UK found a significant correlation between shell companies, and elevated prices. London for instance, has 87,000 homes owned by anonymous companies. According to Christoph Trautvetter of Netzwerk Steuergerechtigkeit, the estimated impact from dirty money in London is 20% of the price increases. …

Laundering money through real estate is far from new, but the velocity and volume is. Traditionally, launderers would buy, hold, and sometimes even rent the places out. The lack of scrutiny in real estate transactions, has always made it a prime landing spot. Every city has a few well known families connected to local mobs, that just happen to be in real estate. The impact to home prices are minimal when the volume is low and slow.

The recent boom in real estate prices in Sydney and Melbourne was partly driven by laundering money that was escaping China.

While money laundering can accelerate the boom to crazy levels, the main causes of rising real estate prices are of course:

  1. The undersupply of land due to zoning restrictions. Due to government. Witness the much lower prices in US cities that have little regulation, versus high prices in tightly regulated cities.
  2. The oversupply of money. Due to government — which sets interest rates and money supply via the central banks. Most anyone can borrow obscene amounts of money at low interest rates.

The sad result of all this criminal and government activity is that the western middle class works crazy hard to bid against each other for a limited amount of desirable real estate. Imagine how much easier life would be if houses cost what they did in our parent’s day, about three times annual earnings?

How the Western Ruling Elite Got So Far to the Left of the Public

How the Western Ruling Elite Got So Far to the Left of the Public, by the Z-Blog.

Ruling classes all over the West are wildly out of step with the public, which is the cause of these populist revolts. … The political class is no longer part of the feedback loop that existed between themselves and the public.

The feedback loop in the managerial state now works like this. The power elite want some set of polices, so they hire top men from the managerial class to sell it to the public. Whether or not the public buys it is immaterial, they just need evidence that there is public support for it. Once they generate that, they are convinced and set about convincing policy makers to push the new policy. Of course, there is plenty of money to go around, so politicians are more than happy to believe whatever is fed them. …

When the political class had to canvas for votes, they met actual voters who told them about what was on their mind. Today, the entire managerial class is like a monastery, where everyone is trying to be the star of the choir or the best at illuminating manuscripts. They spend all of their time talking to themselves.

As an aside, the reason social media and website comment sections terrorize these people is it is there where the yawning gap between themselves and the public is most obvious. When National Review had a comment section, their writers saw plainly that the readers were not buying what they were selling. The solution was to get rid of the comments. On social media, the solution is to purge the platforms of anyone that upsets human resources. Our thought leaders can only take so much reality.

Sam Francis made the point decades ago that both political parties in America are far to the Left of the people who vote for them. The reason for that is the political center of the ruling class has always been to the extreme Left of the public. Cut off from the feedback loop, that center has now drifted out beyond the event horizon of most people. It’s why our rulers seem like strangers to us.

Annihilation Of Christian Life And People: Where Is The Outrage In The West?

Annihilation Of Christian Life And People: Where Is The Outrage In The West? By Giulio Meotti.

Where is the Western solidarity for the Sri Lanka’s murdered Christians? British scholar Rakib Ehsan:

The differences in tone and nature between the condemnations of the Christchurch and Sri Lanka terrorist attacks are striking. After Christchurch, there was no hesitation about stating the religious backgrounds of the victims and directing emotion and affection towards Muslim communities. Politicians took no issue with categorising the events in Christchurch as terrorism.

“In contrast, the words ‘terrorism’ and ‘Christianity’, along with their associated terms, have so far failed to feature in much of the reaction to the attacks in Sri Lanka.

“What is evident is not only a clear reluctance to specify the religious background of Christians who were killed in Sri Lanka, but also an absence of heartfelt solidarity with Christian communities across the world, which continue to suffer grave forms of persecution on the grounds of their faith.”

Are you one of the good people, or one of the the bad people? Meotti:

The silence of the Western intellectual world and the media is particularly deafening. The new humanitarian conscience seems to see only two groups: those who have the right to the compassion and protection of the international community, and those, such as Christians, unworthy of help or solidarity. …

Where is the outrage in the West for the annihilation of Christian life and people? It feels as if there is no indignation, only silence, interrupted by bombs and “Allahu Akbar”. …

Islamic extremists have seen that the West has not mobilized to prevent them from repressing Christians, as if unconsciously there were a strange convergence between our silence and the ethnic cleansing project of the Islamic State, aimed at erasing Christians.

Mapping the Global Migration of Millionaires

Mapping the Global Migration of Millionaires, by Nick Routley.

High net worth individuals (HNWIs) – persons with wealth over US$1 million – may decide to pick up and move for a number of reasons. In some cases they are attracted by jurisdictions with more favorable tax laws, or less pollution and crime. Sometimes, they’re simply looking for a change of scenery. …

Time-honored locations – such as Switzerland and the Cayman Islands – continue to attract the world’s wealthy, but no country is experiencing HNWI inflows quite like Australia.

The Land Down Under has a number of attributes that make it an attractive destination for migrating millionaires. The country has a robust economy, and is perceived as being a safe place to raise a family. Even better, Australia has no inheritance tax and a lower cost of health care, which can make it an attractive alternative to the U.S.

Adds our anonymous reader:

Sydney is also the third most multicultural city in the world, and Australia is the most ethnically diverse country in the world.

Australia also has the highest refugee intake, on a per capita basis.

Bible on trial in Australia in Israel Folau fallout

Bible on trial in Australia in Israel Folau fallout, by Jennifer Oriel.

All around the world, Christians are persecuted for their faith. Their houses of worship are destroyed. Their Bible is banned or revised beyond recognition. Their right to exercise religious freedom is denied. In the most publicised cases, they are imprisoned or murdered for their faith.

But in the West, the common forms of Christian persecution are cultural and financial. There are boycotts against Christian businesses, violent protests against Christian groups and a developing culture of complacency about hostility to Christian figureheads. Israel Folau is a test case for the tolerance of discrimination against Christians in Australia. …

The battle between Australia’s sporting codes and Israel Folau looks increasingly like cashed-up bullies hunting a Christian. He has been tried in the court of public opinion and endured false accusations, smears and mobbing by sports chiefs. Colleagues have denounced him. Christian sportsmen who support Folau have been subjected to public humiliation by rabid trolls and the media. AFL star Gary Ablett was berated and booed after liking a Folau post. England club Saracens formally warned player Billy Vunipola, after he supported Folau online, against “publicly sharing his opinion” and told him it “contravenes his contractual obligations”. It’s back into the closet for Christians as PC persecution goes transnational. …

While Islamist and communist regimes remain the worst state offenders for the persecution of Christians, creeping Christophobia is taking root in the West. Folau is widely recognised as one of Australia’s finest rugby players. But merit is not enough to protect him from the unofficial charge of heresy in a time when political correctness is law and social order.

Why Obama and Clinton Tweeted About ‘Easter Worshippers,’ Not Christians

Why Obama and Clinton Tweeted About ‘Easter Worshippers,’ Not Christians, by Dennis Prager.

The reason neither of them mentioned Christians or churches is that the left has essentially forbidden mention of all the anti-Christian murders perpetrated by Muslims in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and of all the Muslim desecration of churches in Europe, Africa, and anywhere else.

This is part of the same phenomenon — that I and others have documented — of British police and politicians covering up six years of rape of 1,400 English girls by Muslim “grooming gangs” in Rotherham and elsewhere in England.

Essentially, the left’s rule is that nothing bad — no matter how true — may be said about Muslims or Islam and nothing good — no matter how true — may be said of Christians or Christianity.

Cruise and Hillary Clinton, the truth!

Clinton’s post-New Zealand tweet also included these words: “We must continue to fight the perpetuation and normalization of Islamophobia and racism in all its forms. White supremacist terrorists must be condemned by leaders everywhere. Their murderous hatred must be stopped.”

She made sure to condemn “Islamophobia,” but she wrote not a word about the far more destructive and widespread hatred of Christians in the Muslim world, seen in Muslims’ virtual elimination of the Christian communities in the Middle East, the regular murder and kidnappings of Coptic Christians in Egypt, and the murder of Christians in Nigeria.

She calls on “leaders everywhere” to condemn “white supremacist terrorists,” one of the smallest hate groups on Earth, but never calls on leaders everywhere to condemn Islamist terrorists, the largest hate group on Earth.

Keynote speaker at Harvard diversity conference says Christians should be ‘locked up’

Keynote speaker at Harvard diversity conference says Christians should be ‘locked up’, by Alexander Pease.

To celebrate a “Decade of Dialogue” in its annual diversity conference, Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts & Sciences invited a straight white man to give the keynote lecture.

But not just any straight white man.

Tim Wise, an “anti-racism writer, educator and activist,” has denigrated Christians as “Jeezoids” and fascists and called Pope Francis evil. He has tweeted that “people who believe in a God of hell/damnation deserve to be mocked viciously and run out of the public square.”

Those who base their morality on the Hebrew Scriptures “deserve to be locked up,” he said in 2015, claiming to be “sorta kidding but not by much.”

‘Why is my teenage girl picked on for NOT being gay or trans?’ A disturbing look at how teachers and pupils have turned tolerance on its head

‘Why is my teenage girl picked on for NOT being gay or trans?’ A disturbing look at how teachers and pupils have turned tolerance on its head. By Suzanne Glover.

Every day after school, my 13-year-old daughter Bella tells me about her day. …

Bella’s friend Jessica … came out last year after she started dating Alexandra in another Year 9 class. Only Alexandra has since decided she’s now transgender and is living as a boy called Alex — who must only be referred to as ‘he’ — despite being a pupil at an all-girls school.

There were huge dramas when another classmate, Rebecca, confessed to Laura, who is in her maths set, that she was sexually attracted to her. Laura, who used to present as a boy, angrily rejected her, saying she had jumped to the wrong conclusions, leaving Rebecca in tears. However, Laura has since decided she is gay after all, and the pair are now dating. …

Who says the gender ideologues aren’t having a huge impact?

Bella has totted it up and she and her friends estimate that around 12 per cent — one in eight — of her year group have already come out as gay, bisexual or transgender. Other parents I talk to at similar girls selective schools near us in the Home Counties cite similar percentages. …

1.6 per cent of adult women in the UK identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual. Although it is not tracked, it is estimated that the number of transgender people lies somewhere between 0.2 per cent and 1 per cent.

But there’s a big gap between these official figures and what we are seeing in our schools, particularly among girls who studies show are more malleable. …

Political correctness starts early and has gone ballistic:

Bella has learned to choose her pronouns carefully after innocently forgetting to use ‘he’ or ‘they’ instead of ‘she’ when talking about other transgender or non-binary pupils. Anyone who slips, she says, gets snapped at by the pupils who pride themselves on being more ‘woke’ and enlightened. …

One parent reported: ‘Being trans is a gold star in the eyes of other teens.’ The flipside however is that ‘cisgender’ has become a term of abuse against straight teens. Parents told the study how their trans children derided straight children, whom they viewed as ‘dumb and boring’, and were ‘disparaging’ about ‘heterosexuality, marriage and nuclear families’. Bella says she knows the feeling: ‘When I talk about liking boys to some girls in my year I am treated as if I am stupid and I don’t get it.’

I can’t help feeling that the sexual revolutionaries are having their way with some of our children.

To fight K-pop’s influence in China, a club teaches young boys to be alpha males

To fight K-pop’s influence in China, a club teaches young boys to be alpha males, by Robyn Dixon.

In a nation where men dominate political and business leadership and campaigns for gender equality have gained little traction, the debate over what is “effeminate” has become a popular pastime among older conservative residents, and mostly among men.

Influenced by K-pop idols in Korea, China’s boy bands and celebrities — with their delicate beauty, dyed hair and haute couture wardrobes — have a massive following among women here. But China’s state-run media condemns the young idols, calling them “sissy pants” and “fresh young meat.”

The backlash deepened after a back-to-school TV program featured the boy band F4. Angry parents attacked the Education Ministry’s decision to hold up the cosmetics-wearing young men as role models; state media warned that a “sick” and “decadent” culture threatened the future of the nation. This year, a Chinese videostreaming website started blurring earrings worn by men. …

“They’re worrying that if Chinese men are so effeminate… then we will become a weak country in future and we cannot compete with our rivals,” he said. “There’s anxiety about the virility of the nation being harmed by those effeminate male images.”

Trump has put up 39 miles of wall on 2,000-mile border despite claims of more

Trump has put up 39 miles of wall on 2,000-mile border despite claims of more, by Anna Giaritelli.

Only a small fraction of the 2,000-mile wall President Trump vowed as a candidate to build on the U.S.-Mexico border has gone up since he took office more than two years ago, according to a document the defense agency overseeing construction provided to Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D.

Exactly 39.8 miles of wall — technically steel bollard fence — have been installed along the southern border since January 2017, for an average of 1.7 miles per month.

Remember the chants of “Build a wall!” at every Trump rally. Sad.

Jim Goad’s New Book: A Banquet of Anti-Anti-Whiteness!

Jim Goad’s New Book: A Banquet of Anti-Anti-Whiteness! By John Derbyshire.

Anti-whiteness is now a sturdy pillar of state ideology throughout the Anglosphere. Solemn conferences are convened at which scholars discuss the evils of whiteness. (This year’s White Privilege Conference, held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa last month, was the 20th in its series. More than a thousand people attended). A Google search on the phrase “unbearable whiteness” returned nearly 60,000 hits, most of them non-ironic.

The fundamentals of anti-whiteness are now taught to third-graders. Our universities hold no-whites-allowed meetings for faculty and staff to promote “inclusivity.” “Offense archeologists” trawl through social-media archives seeking violations of anti-white orthodoxy; violators are promptly punished by dismissal and ostracism. …

Hostility to anti-whiteness has not yet been criminalized in the U.S.A. as it has in Britain, but critics of anti-whiteness are firmly excluded from official culture here. Schools will not employ them; TV Talking Heads will not interview them; politicians shun them; mainstream publishers will not take on their books. …

What puts the lie to this notion that “whiteness” is unbearable is the fact that global immigration patterns show nonwhites desperately trying to get into white countries, whereas an inverse phenomenon — say, whites moving to Swaziland in droves — doesn’t exist AT ALL in the real world. …

I sure as hell hate white people these days — they are by far my least favorite racial group — but not because they’re innately worth hating. It’s because they already hate themselves far too much, and they don’t wear it well. I have far more respect for all other groups because they respect themselves, whether it’s deserved or not …

Look with disgust upon these squirming white worms with their endlessly tacky public displays of self-flagellation, exulting in the idea of their own wickedness, trying to drown their historical sins in a cleansing wave of softly genocidal immigration.

The Progressive Dream

The Progressive Dream: A Message From the Future by AOC.

Big on feeling. Gives insight into what they want to happen. But short on reality and truth. Also, short on white people — see the future people of the harmonious saved world, sketched around 6:30. That’s what they think of us!

Charles in Melbourne suggests some helpful translations from Newspeak into English:

At 2’12” AOC says:

Politicians went to bat for fossil fuels and these massive corporations kept digging and mining a drilling and fracking like there was no tomorrow. America became the biggest producer and consumer of oil in the world.

Thanks to a reliable supply of affordable energy, America built the most dynamic and innovative economy on the planet, at the same time as reducing actual air pollution, and cutting CO2 emissions by half.

Around 2’50” when AOC complains about Hurricane Maria destroying Puerto Rico in 2017, the translation could read:

In 2017, Puerto Rico was hit by a the twelfth hurricane since 1899, and the first since 1998. Between 1926 and 1932, FOUR hurricanes hit Puerto Rico.

At 4’40” AOC says,

We also introduced the Federal Jobs Guarantee, a public option including dignified living wages for work.

We created a massive Federal workforce, paying high wages for essentially no productive contribution to the economy.

The biggest problem in the early years was a shortage of labor….

We diverted labor from the productive Private Sector to the Federal Government, building windmills and solar panels, which guaranteed the failure of a hitherto reliable Electricity Grid.

Ileana restored the bijou in Louisiana…

Ileana and her colleagues were paid to tear apart the infrastructure that had been built over decades, using the very same machines sequestered by the New Deal Government.

We trained a new generation of faith-healers and bone-throwing witch-doctors.

AOC 5’43”:

Ileana got restless and tried her hand as a solar-plant engineer for a while, but Ileana eventually made her career in raising the next generation as part of the universal child-care initiative. As it turns out, caring for others is valuable low-carbon work, and we started paying real money to people like teachers, domestic workers and home-help aids.

Ileana worked as an engineer, but learned that her feminine instinct to work with children and the elderly was personally more satisfying, especially because the economic benefits were identical. And besides, the New Deal Elites needed a ready supply of domestic workers, all paid-for by the New Deal Government.

White terrorists vs Muslim terrorists

White terrorists vs Muslim terrorists, by Lion of the Blogosphere.

White terrorists, like the guy [in] New Zealand, are always lone wolfs and unmarried losers.

In contrast, Muslim terrorists are part of a network, and they are neither loners nor losers. We see from this article that the Sri Lankan terrorists were well educated and financially well off. They were married. There were two husband-wife suicide bombing teams.

Commenter Rosenkop:

White terrorists are probably mostly mentally ill. Being a terrorist is not socially acceptable in white culture so it is unlikely a white person who wants to be a terrorist will find anyone else who also wants to be a terrorist.

In some Muslim cultures apparently it IS socially acceptable to be a terrorist. Terrorists are seen as heroes and martyrs by some factions of Muslims. So groups of them get together.

How many decades before that truth is allowed to surface in the mainstream media?

Invisible costs of renewables: “Staggeringly high” $125b for US electricity consumers

Invisible costs of renewables: “Staggeringly high” $125b for US electricity consumers, by Joanne Nova.

Everyday someone tells us renewables are cheap … But what really matters to every man and his dog, is the cost effect on the whole system, not a cherry-slice comparison of a few sunny-windy hours a day which doesn’t take into account the effect that renewable energy has on the rest of the 24/7 electricity grid.

Greenstone, McDowell and Nath have analysed all 29 states in the US where there are laws demanding a certain percentage of energy be renewable. On average a 4% increase in renewables led to a price rise of 17% and the impost was wildly high compared to any remotely sensible cost-benefit analysis. Renewables are the car insurance bill that costs 3 times as much as your car. Any serious environmentalist would hate renewables.

Michael Shellenberger, Forbes: “The cost to consumers has been staggeringly high: ”All in all, seven years after passage, consumers in the 29 states had paid $125.2 billion more for electricity than they would have in the absence of the policy,” they write.”

Greenstone et al analyze the RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standards) in the US. This is like the RET in Australia and the Renewables Obligation in the UK. Like any market destroying rule, it ensures the system finds a more expensive way to supply electricity.

That’s the whole point. Back in the earlier days of tackling alleged catastrophic global warming due to increased carbon dioxide — I used to work for the Australian Greenhouse Office — it was explicitly acknowledged: to reduce emissions of CO2, jack up prices.

The whole point of policy is to increase electricity prices, to do whatever it takes to stop us consuming cheap power from coal.

Nowadays they try to pretend that its about transitioning to “low cost” renewables. But that’s just same BS as how “global warming” became ” climate change”. A rose by any other name smells as sweet — Shakespeare would have hated the modern spinmeisters.

Trump’s army of ‘the uncovered’

Trump’s army of ‘the uncovered’, by Lynne Lechter.

A funny thing happened on the way to the 2016 presidential election. The unelectable, uncouth, unintelligent, unpolitical, unlikeable, and utterly unthinkable guy won. Clearly, the “deplorables” assisted, as did the “bitter clingers” …

But it took more. The uncovereds carried President Trump over the finish line to unbelievable victory.

Who and what are the uncovereds? They are the silent army who are passionately pro-Trump but wouldn’t and still won’t admit it. Why? one might ask. Were they cowards?

In the months leading up to the 2016 election, the reasons for secrecy were very different from and far more benign than those dictating secrecy today. In 2015, Trump’s inner circle was aware of the phenomenon, as were the ancillary Trump campaign volunteers who walked the streets, knocking on doors, and toiling for hours at phone banks.

What did they collectively discover? Diverse but large groups of people were committed to voting for Trump. However, while they would admit their pro-Trump predilection to anonymous pollsters or door-knockers or phone surveyors, they would not tell their family, friends, co-workers, bosses, or teachers. Universally, their response would be “I’m voting for Trump, but I’m not telling my spouse, or anyone else.” In 2015, it just wasn’t worth the hassle and ridicule to them. They didn’t want to argue with friends and relatives, teachers and students. And they didn’t want to be perceived as dumb. …

In 2019, going into the upcoming presidential election cycle, the uncovereds’ reticence stems from far more profound fears. There is a fear of violence. There is a fear of being fired. There is a fear of grade retribution. There is a fear of a car with a pro-Trump bumper sticker being vandalized. This fear radiates in America. Incredibly, the Democratic Party has created an atmosphere of free speech suppression — “if you disagree with us, we will silence you.”

The Democrats, with their anarchistic thug minions, blackmail serial con artists, and monolithic control of public education and social and print media, have terrorized many Trump aficionados into diving underground and undercover. By doing so, they have perpetuated the inevitability of their second and seemingly more comprehensive demise. That is because, by pushing more uncovereds underground, they don’t know how many uncovereds exist.

Yet despite massive intimidation, another funny thing is happening on the way to the 2020 presidential election: Many of the heretofore uncovereds are banning together and openly bursting forth from the Trump closet. These include the Jewish groups Jexit and Jexodus and the ever-expanding black American and Caucasian movement #walkaway.

Secret voting might come under attack next?

Btw, lying to pollsters throws a spanner in the works of most political machines, including the media. What if we all said we were going to obediently vote left, but didn’t?

Almost no one dared to mention the word “Christian” let alone identify the terrorists as Muslim or Islamist or whatever safe word they could find in the politically correct dictionary that only the chattering classes employ. Using ordinary plain English to describe the atrocities would of course open one to be labelled “White Nationalist” or “Islamophobe.”

It’s no wonder the trio of America’s living liberal saints, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren all used the phrase, “Easter Worshippers,” instead of Christians. It was almost as if the C word was beneath them.

Others, like Alan Keenan of the International Crisis Group, claimed the real victims of the Sri Lanka attacks could end up being the broader Muslim community targeted in the wake of the attack, irrespective of the fact their co-religionists carried out the blood bath.

There’s the “victim” visible through the doorway, about to let off his bomb

Here are the words of the suicide bomber Mohamed Zaharan from his YouTube channel where he declares: “It is a sin to live in Dar Al Kufr, (a country with a non-Muslim majority)” and “Even if a Kaffir (non-Muslim) does good things, I hate him, because he is a non-believer [in Islam].”

Such hate may not be a dominant trait among ordinary Muslims, but as one, I am aware where such hate is planted in our minds. Seventeen times a day, every Muslim child in every mosque, in every country, hears the Imam read a prayer where both Christians and Jews are referred with derision, yet no one dares to intervene.
