Identity group politics was reintroduced to the West by the left for its electoral advantage a couple of decades ago, breaking decisively away from the ideal of a color-blind society. From there, developments such as the bigotry at the New York Times were inevitable. It’s only going to get worse unless the left is persuaded there is no overall advantage in being racist and sexist.
