UK High Court refuses bid for gender-neutral passports, by the BBC.
Christie Elan-Cane wants passports to have an “X” category, which could be used by those who consider themselves neither fully male nor female.
The campaigner claimed the UK’s passport process was “inherently discriminatory”.
A reader remarks:
Well of course it’s discriminatory.
Passports are supposed to discriminate you from everyone else. They’re not intended to be used for the social engineering fantasies of the lunatic Left, and the percentage of people with developmental abnormalities is in any case extremely small. Should aircraft be designed to accommodate the one person in 10,000 who is 7 feet tall, or should they be designed around what is comfortable for the vast majority of people who are neither giants nor midgets?
Let’s recall that sex determination in humans is a function of an individual having either two X chromosomes (XX) or being XY. It’s a binary system with two categories, male and female, into which the vast majority of people fit. As anyone with high school biology should know. Political Correctness involves ignoring objective reality, however. Which is why “politically correct” = “incorrect in the real world, but we’ll force it on everyone anyway”.
