In September, Trump also set the annual refugee resettlement cap at 45,000. It was previously north of 100,000.
In Australia the refugee quota was lifted by Julia Gillard from 13,700 per year to 20,000. With a population of 25 million compared to the US population of 330 million, Australia now takes in 5.8 times as many refugees as the US on a per-capita basis.
