Prince Charles cashes in on climate rules reform, by Dominic Kennedy.
The Prince of Wales lobbied to reform climate rules after his estate secretly bought shares in an offshore firm that would benefit, according to papers disclosed yesterday.
It is the first time the prince has been shown to have an undeclared financial interest in any of the causes he has championed.
Clarence House said Charles had never spoken out on a topic because of an investment and that his views about climate reform were longstanding and consistent. However, records suggest the prince only began making speeches on this specific point, about carbon trading in rainforests, after his estate was sent lobbying material by the business.
