Some thoughts on Afghanistan

Some thoughts on Afghanistan, by Lion of the Blogosphere.

Jihadism is part of a worldwide Islamic reformation based on Muslims discovering the true meaning (or at least a literal and historically accurate meaning) of Islam from the internet, and whether or not the Taliban (or ISIS) runs Afghanistan doesn’t change much.

On the other hand, maybe Taliban/ISIS type of rule Afghanistan will inevitably spread to Pakistan, which has nuclear weapons. Given that scary scenario, permanently policing Afghanistan with our military sounds like a pretty good idea.

Head of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, is saying that a continuing western presence will prevent Afghanistan from becoming a haven for terrorists who would attack the West, and therefore it is less expensive to continue the war than to quit.
