Google has abruptly canceled a company-wide meeting, scheduled for Thursday afternoon, that was intended to address employee questions about the company’s diversity policies. …

Google CEO Sundar Pichai wrote in an email announcing the cancellation. “Googlers are writing in, concerned about their safety and worried they may be ‘outed’ publicly for asking a question in the Town Hall.”

Cannot have a discussion if disagreeing with the company line is considered heresy, punishable by dismissal, public outing, and social ostracism.
