Trump plans to cut EPA staff in half, by John Siciliano.
“Let’s aim for half and see how it works out, and then maybe we’ll want to go further,” [the former head of Trump’s EPA transition team] Myron Ebell said now that he has returned to his position as director of the Center for Energy and Environment at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. Ebell left the Trump transition team a week ago. …
“President Trump said during the campaign that he would like to abolish the EPA, or ‘leave a little bit,'” Ebell said. “I think the administration is likely to start proposing cuts to the 15,000 staff, because the fact is that a huge amount of the work of the EPA is actually done by state agencies. It’s not clear why so many employees are needed at the federal level.”
Now there’s a real change in the climate!

Of course, you must now realize that Rachel Maddow[political commentator, hosts a nightly television show on MSNBC, very PC] is going to have a hissy fit. I remember her during the shutdown a few years back. She was so worried that the government employees were going to suffer. Instead they received something like an additional four-week paid vacation. Did she ever shed a tear for a laid off coal miner? Of course not; they are deplorable.
Government workers never went through what the private sector went through during the recession. Washington prospered.
