Putin laughs off Obama and takes the high road: “We Will Not Expel Anyone; We Refuse To Sink To ‘Kitchen’ Diplomacy”, by Tyler Durden. See the story so far. Now:
Following this morning’s reports that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would recommend to Russian President Vladimir Putin a retaliation in kind, and expel 35 American diplomats, saying that “we cannot leave such acts unanswered. Reciprocity is part of diplomatic law” with Putin spokesman Peskov adding that “there is no doubt that Russia’s adequate and mirror response will make Washington officials feel very uncomfortable as well”, it was ultimately up to Putin to decide how to respond to the US.
Which he did on Friday morning, when in a stunning reversal, the Russian leader took the high road, rejected the Lavrov proposal, and in a statement posted by the Kremlin said that Russia won’t expel any Americans in retaliation to US moves, in a brutal demonstration of just how irrelevant Obama’s 11th hour decision is for US-Russian relations. …
In the just released statement, Putin laughed off Obama’s 11th hour temper tantrum, and said that Russia won’t cause problems to U.S. diplomats or deport anyone, adding that Russia has the right to respond in tit-for-tat manner, but it will not engage in irresponsible diplomacy.
The punchline, however, was saved for what may be Russia’s final slam of the debacle that is Obama’s administration saying that “It’s a pity that the current U.S. administration is finishing their work in such a manner” saying that Russia refuses “to sink to the level of this irresponsible “kitchen” diplomacy.”
Wow, behaving just like on the Internet.
Seriously, what is probably going on is that the whole bundle of accusations by the US Democrats that the “Russians hacked the election” is entirely a cynical exercise to taint the Trump presidency with illegitimacy, at least in the eyes of their own supporters. Expelling Russian diplomats is just to make it seem serious and official. Oooh, we are impressed now.
There are no accusations that the Russians altered votes in the US, as implied by the “Russians hacked the election” meme. The accusations are only that the Russians had a hand in allowing the world to see the Democrat’s internal emails — which no one disputes are original. The stench is due to the Democrats own words. If Podesta hadn’t fallen for a phishing scam and Hilary didn’t have an illegal sever, perhaps it wouldn’t have been different … but maybe not.
The Democrats have no evidence the Russians were involved in the emails that were leaked. Of course half the world probably hacked Hillary’s illegal server, but who leaked them to the public? All the Democrats have is a couple of left-aligned security agencies in the US, the CIA and FBI, making vague and unsubstantiated accusations — which they will not even back up by briefing members of congress on the details. This is usually the way security lies are told.
Wikileaks insist they didn’t get the emails from the Russians, but from a leaker in the DNC.
All up, a cynical ploy by the US Democrats, shamelessly using the powers of state for the own domestic political battles, and endangering the US-Russian relationship into the bargain. It is only possible because the US media breathlessly reports the Democrat’s version of events, without a shred of skepticism.
But, as everyone is now now realizing, Putin and Trump share similar cultural values — modern and traditional, as opposed to the postmodern and PC values of the Democrats, the global elite, and the EU. The pair are just laughing at the Democrats now, who look foolish to anyone not taken in by the mainstream media reporting. It so unfair that people can now find out what is happening on the Internet and the old media games don’t work so well.
Politics is going international and cultural — the global elite and their Muslim shock troops versus western native populations. Trump and Putin have worked out they are on the same team, and so are most of the Western population.
