Richard Spencer is a white nationalist who coined the term “alt-right” and supports Trump. Here is a speech he gave in May 2016. After Trump’s election, he and other white nationalists held a meeting in a hotel in Washington which the media attended in greater numbers than the nationalists, presumably looking for dirt on the alt-right to smear Trump with.
By the way, that is not a Nazi salute (palm facing down) but a Roman salute (palm facing forward). The media, having already misinformed themselves that these people were white supremacists, expected a Nazi salute — anyway, that is what they reported as occurring. ‘Hail Trump’ is akin to ‘Hail Caesar.’ The alt right people at the conference were trolling the media — probably because the media outnumbered them at their own conference! — but the media misreported it anyway.
Trump disavows the alt-right — he probably does not even know who they are. The alt-right is very amorphously defined. However the alt-right will not disown Spencer, so the PC crew are going after his mum instead. Here are some excerpts from her story.
I’m a resident of Whitefish, Montana, and am the proud owner of a beautiful mixed-use facility in town. … The building opened in late 2015, and received wide acclaim from the local press. And the vacation apartments have been enjoyed by people from around the world. …
Richard does not own the building, nor has he ever used it for his writing or publishing. Put simply, the building has nothing to do with politics — and it has everything to do with tourism and local businesses. …
The threat:
I had no intention of selling . . . until I started receiving terrible threats in the last couple of weeks.
These threats came from Tanya Gersh, a local realtor with links to “human rights” organizations Love Lives Here and the Montana Human Rights Network.
On November 22, Gersh and I spoke on the phone. She relayed to me that if I did not sell my building, 200 protesters and national media would show up outside — which would drive down the property value — until I complied. Gersh’s other conditions included that I make a public denunciation of my son in a statement written by the Montana Human Rights Network and that I make a donation to this organization from the sale of the property. As Gersh announced on Facebook, she was “spear heading” the campaign.
Gersh followed up on her conditions in a number of emails, which I’ve just made public. She even shamelessly suggested that she act as my realtor! In other words, she and the local “human rights” organizations appeared to seek financial benefit from threats of protests and reputation damage. The same day Gersh first contacted me, I received a sales offer, even though I had not expressed any intention to sell, nor had anything been publicized.
One renter reported to me that Gersh threatened her business with boycotts unless she moved. This renter also alleged that Gersh called her “collateral damage.”
Read it all. Political stand-over tactics have returned in the West, last seen AFAIK when the communists and the Nazis battled it out in Germany to see who would be the left’s main standard bearers. (Yes, Nazism was left wing — national socialism as opposed to the communist’s international socialism. See here.)
This is a new low standard in recent political behavior from the left. The antidote to speech you don’t like is better speech expressing your point of view. Threats and financial harm to speaker’s relatives is beyond the pale — it leads to instability, mayhem, and an unworkable public life. The left is increasingly damaging people who speak against it with financial harm — such as the Kleins, who lost their business and $137k for simply declining to make a cake for a gay couple.
Every other racial identity group in the US is encouraged by the left and the media, including La Raza (“the Race”) and Black Lives Matter (who insist that “all lives matter” is racist but “black lives matter” is not). But there is apoplectic outrage if whites organize. Obviously this is because the left introduced identity politics to build an electoral coalition of fringe groups, held together by the KKKrazy glue of anti-white hate.
