Reality — Obama at war longer than any other American president; PC — Obama gets Nobel Peace Prize. An article here notes that
On May 6, President Obama passed a historically important milestone for which there was no fanfare or jubilation…
He has now been at war longer than any other American president.
With the end of his second term just weeks away, Obama will become the first U.S. president to have been at war for the entirety of his administration.
In 2009 Joanne burst into my office with a look of incredulity: “You’ll never guess what I just heard on the news!”. I tied to think of the most ridiculously funny thing, so I said “Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize?” Turns out I was correct — the politically correct had matched my absurd answer. The nominations for the 2009 peace price closed 11 days after Obama was inaugurated — must have been some amazingly peaceful 11 days! Wikipedia:
The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to United States President Barack Obama for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”. The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award on October 9, 2009, citing Obama’s promotion of nuclear nonproliferation and a “new climate” in international relations fostered by Obama, especially in reaching out to the Muslim world.
Well well well. Obama turned out to be the greatest warmonger of all the US presidents, wrecked the Muslim Arab world with the Arab spring, got the US into rising tensions with Russia, and may have allowed the Iranian Mullahs to get the bomb. The US is currently fighting in five wars: Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya and Syria. Brilliant.
The PC crew gave him the Nobel Peace Prize for Muslim outreach and nuclear non-proliferation. Wrong on all three counts. Typical PC.
