Trump turns away 15,000 at rally, says Florida officials limited his crowd size to avoid ‘a stampede’, by David Martosko.
Donald Trump said authorities in Tallahassee, Florida limited the number of fans who could get near the stage on Tuesday because they feared ‘a stampede’ might result. …
‘Last night was something, wasn’t it?’ he asked. ‘You know, they kept 15,000 outside. They actually did this: They said we couldn’t allow – they allowed 15,000 in. They said, “We’re afraid of a stampede”.’
‘Can you imagine? Because there were so many people! If there were a stampede we’d be in trouble. Even out of love!’
‘Love can kill too,’ the Republican nominee said just before an aide ushered pool reporters back into the theater.
