Melania went on to defend her husband, saying: “This does not represent the man that I know. He has the heart and mind of a leader.

“I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world.”

The former model married Mr Trump in 2005, just months after he made the unguarded comments to TV host Billy Bush.

The new Wikileaks emails are getting second fiddle — a very distant second fiddle — in the mainstream media which is a lot more excited about the Trump tape. And if something isn’t in the mainstream media, then as far as undecided voters are concerned, it didn’t happen.

Republicans who say Trump should resign because of this are disgusting traitors. Did a single Democrat say that Bill Clinton should resign because of his much worse behavior?

The hypocrisy from the media and their relative unwillingness to cover Clinton’s scandals and foibles are striking.

Mr. Trump said the commotion over his remarks will blow over as it did in other instances, such as after his attacks on Sen. John McCain and his proposed ban on Muslims.

Unlike in a video he taped and released last night, Mr. Trump, who spoke on Saturday from his Manhattan home in Trump Tower, offered no apologies in the Journal interview, but rather went on the offensive. “Go behind closed doors of the holier-than-thou politicians and pundits and see what they’re saying. I look like a baby.” …

Meanwhile, he said, “my phone hasn’t stopped ringing, emails are coming in and even people outside Trump Tower are supporting me.”

Trump fans rallied outside of Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan on Saturday afternoon. Trump’s social media director Dan Scavino tweeted video of Trump greeting a large group of raucous supporters out on the sidewalk.

UPDATE: Paul Ryan Shouted Down by Trump Supporters in Wisconsin, by Patrick Howley. Paul Ryan cancelled a joint campaign appearance with Trump after news of the Trump lewd tape broke.

House Speaker Paul Ryan was shouted down by chants of “Trump” at his Fall Fest event Saturday in Wisconsin.
