Hillary blames Hurricane on climate change; says Trump ‘totally unfit’ to protect USA from ‘the threat of climate change’. The great war of ideologically-charged theory versus empirical fact rages on. The carbon dioxide theory of global warming is just a model-based calculation, and even then they are not sure it will increase hurricanes in the US. Meanwhile, there is empirical evidence that does not support this part of the theory:
UPDATE: Hurricane Matthew downgraded to Cat3 hurricane as it approaches Florida coast. Major, but not Cat 4 as feared. Whew. Also:
Hurricane Wilma was the last major hurricane (Category 3 or stronger) to hit the U.S. It made landfall in Florida on October 24, 2005. The much ballyhooed Hurricane Sandy was Category 1 at landfall, and technically not a hurricane at that time, but an extra-tropical cyclone. Hurricane Ike in 2008, was a Category 2 when it made landfall.
Matthew is very likely to be the first major hurricane to strike the U.S. in almost 11 years, the question is will it be Florida, Georgia, or the Carolinas?
