North Korea’s Kim Jong-un has banned sarcasm because he fears people only agree with him ironically, according to reports.

Government officials were apparently warned they will “not be forgiven” if they are heard being sarcastic.

One of the banned phases is “this is all America’s fault”, alluding to Mr Kim’s default position of blaming the US for everything that goes wrong.

“This habit of the central authorities of blaming the wrong country when a problem’s cause obviously lies elsewhere has led citizens to mock the party,” the source told Radio Free Asia.

Hilarious.

In the Eastern Europe under Soviet rule, the workers used to drag their feet and be slightly uncooperative on projects that they thought would boost Soviet power, but would work most enthusiastically on projects they figured were a mistake.
