Democrats wonder and worry: Why isn’t Clinton far ahead of Trump? by Anne Gearan at the Washington Post (a leader in PC).

With Election Day less than two months away, Democrats are increasingly worried that Hillary Clinton has not built a formidable lead against Donald Trump despite his historic weaknesses as a national party candidate.

Clinton leads Trump by three percentage points, having fallen from her high of nine points in August, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average. That tightening has frustrated many Clinton allies and operatives, who are astonished that she isn’t running away with this race, given Trump’s deep unpopularity and his continuing stream of controversial comments.

That’s what happens when you live in an echo chamber and simply have no idea of what motivates your opposition. Why would people vote for Trump, if Trump is Hitler? No much room for understanding there.

Clinton has also spent five times as much as Trump on advertising — all that money, and a declining lead to show for it.

Still, at the WaPo they just know there is nothing wrong with Hillary’s message or polices, and she would be historic — first woman president! More seriously, the Democrats have fielded a uniquely poor candidate this time.
