Riot police are involved in a stand-off with a crowd of more than 250 people on Kalgoorlie’s main street as tensions flare over the alleged manslaughter of a 14-year-old indigenous boy.

Police have been pelted with glass bottles during the confrontation and at least one officer has been injured.

At least three people have been arrested following the angry scenes.

An abrupt decision was made to postpone the Kalgoorlie Court appearance of a 55-year-old man accused of the alleged manslaughter following the violent scenes. …

The boy is believed to have been fatally injured following an incident involving a motorcycle that was reported stolen on Sunday.
