Normandy church terror: ISIS knifemen slit throat of priest, 84, and take nuns hostage, by Tom Batchelor.
A PRIEST had his throat slit and several others were taken hostage after armed men stormed a church in Normandy during morning mass today, as President Francois Hollande said ISIS had declared war on France.
The hostage, said to be 84-year-old Father Jacques Hamel, was killed by the attackers, who stormed a church in the town of Saint Etienne du Rouvray at around 10am local time.
The knifemen slit his throat after they entered the church by the back door shouting “Allah Akbar“, according to local media.

A statement released by Islamic State this afternoon claimed two of its “soldiers” had carried out the attack.
The men were shot dead by police officers as they emerged from the church. Security sources said one of the murderers was a convicted terrorist who was being monitored with an electronic tag and should have been living with his parents. He was allowed out unsupervised between 8.30am and 12.30pm. The mass at Saint Etiennce’s church started at 9am.
The same source said the church was one of a number of Catholic places of worship on a hitlist, discovered on an ISIS suspect in April 2015 – raising serious questions about France’s intelligence agencies.
I just saw the ABC coverage on their main 7pm news, and they mentioned no motive, no identity group, and no “Allah Akbar”. Hopped onto the Internet and I found out in about 30 seconds. ISIS is dangerous, but the ABC is disgusting for misinforming us again.
This is the second attack reported in France today. There were four in Germany recently. At what point do the people we pay to run our societies start to sit up and do their jobs properly?
At least the French president noted that
We are facing a group Daesh that has declared war. We have to fight this war by all means necessary.
He no longer denies there is a war going on. So what he is doing? This attacker was on a day release and the target was on a ISIS hitlist in his government’s possession.
Mr President, may I suggest hitting the history books to get some clues about what is going on? Maybe see What Muslims Believe. Main points:
- Islam is both a religion and a totalitarian political ideology.
- It is not like other religions, because its political side is a meme for world conquest.
- Islam is the culture of seventh century Arabia.
- The Qur’an is the unchallengeable word of God, dictated to Mohammed by the archangel Gabriel and not open to later re-interpretation. For centuries fundamentalists have prevented Islam from moving far from its roots.
