FRANCE has been so “in denial” about radicalisation on home soil some areas of Nice have become “ungoverned territories” allowing terrorists to flourish.

Peter Neumann, a professor who specialises in radicalisation, said Nice, as well as other parts of southern France and Paris, have become “jihadist breeding grounds”, sparked by failed integration.

He said there was “almost an entire generation of people” who do not feel a part of “the French project” and that it was time for France to focus on the “deeply rooted problem” of Muslim alienation.
