Jacqui Lambie says Senator-elect Pauline Hanson isn’t being treated fairly

Jacqui Lambie says Senator-elect Pauline Hanson isn’t being treated fairly, by Rosie Lewis.

Outspoken independent senator Jacqui Lambie has empathised with controversial senator-elect Pauline Hanson, who she says isn’t being treated fairly ahead of taking her seat in the new parliament.

Senator Lambie also called for a Senate inquiry or “investigation” into radicalisation in Australia, repeating her claims there was a “problem with sharia law in this country” and those who abided by it should “get out”. …

Ms Hanson’s One Nation says on its website that it wants to “call an inquiry or royal commission to determine if Islam is a religion or political ideology”. …

Senator Lambie said the parliament needed to look at reforming the country’s immigration system, insisting it had “clearly failed”.

“We have a problem with sharia law in this country, we have a problem with terrorism in this country and we have a problem with Islam in this country so if people want to speak their mind on that then other people need to start listening,” she said.
