You’ve probably heard about the ‘racist’ pool poster by the American Red Cross in which kids in a pool are labeled either ‘cool’ or ‘not cool’ based on their behavior.

For example, a kid pushing another into the pool was labeled ‘not cool’ with an arrow pointing to that action while a girl waiting to use the diving board was considered ‘cool’.

The alleged problem was that three of four of the five ‘not cools’ were for black children while the only two ‘cools’ were for white people.
