Orlando shooting: Omar Mateen’s wife may face charges for knowing about his plans, by Boer Deng.

Omar Mateen’s wife could face criminal charges after it emerged that she knew of his plans and was with the killer when he bought the bullets that were used in the nightclub.

Noor Salman, who is believed to be of Palestinian origin and is about 30, told the FBI that she had tried to talk him out of the massacre he was plotting. She had accompanied him to buy ammunition and a holster last Thursday and had once driven him to Pulse, the gay nightclub where he killed 49 people.

Her husband became radicalised last year, she told the FBI. Mateen visited Disney World in Orlando at least twice this year — once in April and again this month. Ms Salman said that the trip in April was a family outing, but officials believe that it and the second trip he took alone were used to assess the theme park as a target.
