Hillary Clinton explained on Sunday that she won’t use the term “radical Islam” because it “sounds like we are declaring war against a religion.”
“It doesn’t do justice to the vast number of Muslims in our country and around the world who are peaceful people,” Clinton said in an appearance on ABC’s “This Week.”
“No. 2, it helps to create this clash of civilizations that is actually a recruiting tool for ISIS and other radical jihadists who use this as a way of saying, ‘We are in a war against the West — you must join us,'” she said.
Clinton has faced criticism in recent weeks for — like President Barack Obama and other Democratic candidates — refusing to use the term “radical Islamic terrorism” in the wake of ISIS attacks like the shootings in Paris.
Republican presidential candidates have argued it’s important to denounce, but Democrats, including President Barack Obama, have sought to resist linking the religion to jihadist attacks.
Islam is not just a religion, like Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism or Confucianism. Islam is also a totalitarian political ideology. It seeks to totally control the lives of its subjects.
Islam reflects the values and culture of seventh century Arabia — and will always do so, because the Qur’an is the unchallengeable word of God, dictated to Mohammed by the archangel Gabriel and not open to later re-interpretation. Some Islamic countries have attempted to modernize Islam by moving away from its holy books, to adopt more modern ways, but the fundamentalists have always dragged Islamic societies back into the original Islam and end up leading a political revolt against the countries modernizing leaders. Unlike the other religions, a reformation has not and does not seem possible.
Islam is a meme designed to conquer the world, from seventh century Arabia. It is an implacable adversary of modernity and post-modernity. It is bent on world domination, and that intent is built into the structure and fabric of Islam and cannot change. It is hard to know what percentage of Muslims support which tenets of Islam at what time, but note that only 7% of Germans during WWII were Nazis but we had to fight all the Germans.
