New Survey: Majority of Britons Do Not Think Islam is Compatible with British Values, by StreetInsider. The study (of 2,012 British adults online in April, weighted to be representative of all British adults) carried out on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the UK, released yesterday, finds:

  • 56% agree that Islam is incompatible with British values
  • 72% think that most people in the UK have a negative view of Islam
  • 33% agree that Islam promotes acts of violence in the UK
  • 55% say that they get most of their knowledge about Islam from the media
  • 43% agree that Islam is a negative force in the UK,  40% disagree.
  • Older Britons were more likely to see Islam as being a negative force, while younger people had a more positive view.
