Diamond on silicon chips are running at 100 Gigahertz

Diamond on silicon chips are running at 100 Gigahertz. An emerging new technology for building computer chips from diamond instead of silicon could speed up computers 30-fold. Due to high power consumption and heart build up, current silicon chips in computers plateaued at a clock rate of 3 to 4 Gigahertz around 2005 and still cannot run faster.
