Ironfest 2016: Colourful clash of sub-cultures in Lithgow festival. Steampunk (futuristic and apocalyptic themes with the steam and industrial era), cosplay (dressing as fictional characters), medieval costumes, jousting, and mock battles, and whimsy (such as the Brotherhood and Sisterhood of the Holy Snail).

Lots of fun, but one wonders. Perhaps these people have run out of identity somewhere along the line? With these kinds of distractions, maybe determined groups like the Muslims are having an easier time walking all over the west. Painted by the ABC as quaint and fun, of course, but maybe there is also an element of cultural vacuum, a disaster waiting to be filled.
