Germain Greer sparks further controversy defending ‘real women’ comments. On PC television show Q&A, on the ABC:
Greer conceded her views on gender had been narrow-minded in the past, but she refused to accept that a man who believed they were a woman was immediately a woman. … Greer attracted more derision but some applause and laughter as she explained her controversial views on men who transition to women later in life.
“Women are constantly being told that they are not satisfactory as women, that other people make better women than they do and that the woman of the year may be Caitlin Jenner … makes the rest of the female population of the world feel slightly wry,” she said.
